diy opaque projector

Whenever i actually complete this i wil give full dimensions and a how to.

Basically it is just a mirror and a small mahnifying glass, now that im comfortable it will work well enough i will search out a better lens and make the mirror a first surface mirror.

I love diy stuff , looks like a good image, can't wait to see it finished.

I also like to see people trying stuff out, I just recently found an old Artograph tracer at a charity shop which I got for a measly €4-50, the new cost these days is around €60-00, but I'm glad I didn't pay that for it, although it works fine I just wasn't happy with the amount of it produces, it can only accept a 100 watt bulb, since it is mostly plastic a bigger bulb would cause heat issues as a well as warping your photos.

Your on the right track and I look forward to your updated version, when your find the right lens try to find some way to make it adjustable so that you can move it back and forward for focusing, with the Artograph tracer the front is basically two pipes which fit inside each other so that the one housing the lens can be used to adjust the focus, the concept is excellent and simple but just a little weak, I had plans to re-invent the thing, but I don't have to now cos your doing it and saving me the time:)

Yeah that Monster high Badge is small like 2 inches small. Projected about 5 times its size at the moment. Right now my box is just foamboard taped and cut. I have some tweaking to do before I determine the final locations for lighting. I will be basically building my box to work with whatever lens I can get dirt cheap. There is a lot of math to figure this stuff out but I found it much easier and more accurate just to adjust on the fly!
