In June next year marissa will be back at Petes studio in Great Yarmouth uk. Places are filling up already as she is teaching her popular wildlife workshop again. I know Cordyk attended this previously and had some stunning results on his lioness. And i was fortunate enough to paint a racoon whilst visiting the studio in katwijk.

A 4 day course in the middle of a hot English summer, not to be missed,

I would love to do this so much, but I don't think I'm at or near the level to be able to hold my own, I would be well out my depth.

Gary you would nail it brother! The point is you go there to learn. .... If you can hold an airbrush and have a little control then you are half way there.. The other half is taught/learnt . I know we all have a few issues that prevent plans and ambitions coming to fruition, but in my opinion you are exactly where you need to be to get the best o ut of it and if home life allowed for it I would say go for it. It would provide clarity to alot of things for you and really give you some new skills to practice. Tuck a little bit away each month just in case is my advice

No you wouldn't, you would only be out of your depth if you were blind and had no arms, what you've done up until now is more than enough to qualify you, Marissa's workshoos cater for every level and I know you would rock it.

If you fancy it do it, I would to see you do it and that new studio of yours will be put to good use afterwards, there's plenty of time to save for it too, do yourself a huge favour and at least have a good think about it.

You can email Marissa and pose your questions and doubt, she will reply and put your mind at ease, and so will the fez.

But discuss it with boss first, lol

Thanks for the vote of confidence lads. I'm just a bit concerned I'm not as far down the road as I should be for the length of time I've been doing it, I'm still stuck at the mono stage, and wouldn't want to embarrass myself with the lack of knowledge and struggle keeping up with the class.
The boss has said its ok, a decent amount of time to save, depending on price, 5-600 I think, can't find price anywhere. And 6 months to get some practice in. It's also a totally different direction to the portraits I've been doing.
I'll have a think about it and maybe give marrisa an email to see what she thinks I should know before attending.

As fir colour, she will no doubt teach you colour theory. Just buy a colour wheel. Find the colour you want to make and draw a line to the two opposing colours and mix. Done

No matter what you skill level ( and let's face it unless you are an egotistical knob end, we artist never really think we are that good) you will learn so much from a Marissa course.
I have been on two now and both times I thought I was out of my depth, but the encouragement and step by step help you get from Marissa and Carlo, who by the way are two of the nicest and funniest(haha) people you will ever meet is incredible. And trust me, you will leave with a piece of art that you will be so proud of that you will won't to show off!
Yes it's a lot of money but what you will gain is priceless and you can take at least a year out of the learning process and if like me who is still a colour phobe, they really help with colour theory.
In fact I would say the less experienced you are the more you will gain, all you need is airbrush control and they will show you the rest.
Oh and also after attending a course you will become part of the "happy group" and get continuous help and support from Carlo and Marrisa on FB or through there website.
Enjoy

Smiler m8 you are far better than me and I would attend .I felt the same before I booked the portrait course with Mitch ,yes IMHO I struggled a bit ,but that was down to my dicky hand making my AB control not at its best . What I learnt was invaluable and I am still learning as I try to put all that info into practice and adapt to what I want to achieve . I will consider this course now I know it's on . Go for it m8

I think I might be ringing Pete tomorrow find out a few things and just maybe drop a deposit down.

I think my main prob is confidence or lack of it,maybe if I do this it will put that to bed once and for all.
@Cordyk I've always liked yor lioness and that portraits great. I would be happy coming away with something half as good.

You will definitely get over the confidence thing since you'll likely see how easy some things actually are, once you see a lot of the tricks and learn some of the theory you will probably just wonder why you weren't able to come up with it on your own.

The prices are on Marissa's website if you cruise their a bit, but I doubt you will anywhere near 600 unless you mean digs and everything included, if I remember correctly it was about €450 so you'll likely be under 400 quid for the course alone, but from what I've seen from Kev and Adam and anyone else who's been, it's well worth a grand, certainly to those who make good use of it.

I'm glad you're doing it, you deserve it without a doubt.

I think I just read somewhere £580 for the course, but if I say £25 per week from now to then it easier to say:thumbsup: I'll find out tomorrow for sure.

I can answer the "why didn't I" simply, I'm thick and it takes quite a while to sink in:whistling: look how long it took just to grasp hair.

I was lucky enough to be grasping hair since I was 3 years old, but that's probably because I fight like a girl:confused:

Smiler trust me I have seen people walk in to her classes who had never seen a airbrush let alone hold one and they did just great :) , I went to 2 of her classes the last one was after my stroke just to see if she could teach me to work with colours again and you have seen the results :) I may not be able to see all different shades and values and still make mistakes but if you have been to her class you become a member of a growing family and get their support if you need it :D

Mate I was the baby in the class at Dru's and felt a bit uneasy when I arrived but soon got into it. As Ron says, you will be surprised at what you will be able to acheive. Just pay the deposit and get excited brother. Education is worth more than all the microns you buy........

Finally managed to catch up with Pete, with be dropping my deposit tonight when im at home.:)
Apparently someone else from my neck of the woods is also going but i dont know if their a member on here.

Going to be excited about this but nervous at the same time, if nothing elsethe other attendees with have someone to take the mick out of.
