Silentaire compressor any good?

You could save a few dollars & buy this one on eBay:

It's a refrigerator style compressor with a small tank. It is silent except when it lets off pressure like any other compressor. I heard about this one from someone in the airbrush community. After reading reviews I bought one. The only bad reviews were that it sucks putting in the oil when you get it (true), and that some people had to clean oil off of theirs because the bottle of oil leaked in transit. Mine didn't leak but I was willing to clean up a mess for the $97 I paid for mine. The rumor is the company is selling them off for less than cost to try to make back some of their money. Now they are running out & selling for $130. I may buy another one just because it's such a good deal haha. Great little compressor.

I have the Silentair 50 and love them , Yes them I have one at my house and I made the place I work buy one when I needed a replacement compressor.
The one at work has ran 5 day a week 8 hours a day for the past 13 years. Never have had a problem.

Wow, i wish i'd seen this b4 i got mine. I paid£350 for a bambi " silent " compressor.
Its great and works well as its got quite a large tank so it doesnt start up every 10 minutes.
But that one there is a bargain.

Silent air is an excellent brand. Intact the compressors for Iwata are also made by Silentair. They also make Black Panther compressors

Hi....sorry for jumping in on this but ive just been looking at the bambi 15 and was thinking of buying one.
The thing is, I wanted to run my iwata hvlp mini 0.6 through it, just for candy and autobourne sealers, as well as, my airbrush....Will the bambi have enough guts to run a 0.6 gun bearing in mind, I won't be doing anything bigger than a motorbike tank ???? TIA

I have the bambi 15v. The pressure gauge goes up to 200 psi. Obviously wouldnt run it at the max though.
Some mid range brushes have .5 nozzles so i dont see why a .6 would be a problem.

You need to check the CFM of the gun and compare it to the specs on the compressor. If the gun is higher you will run out of air too quick which will affect your spraying.

Its an Iwata lph 50..... I took this Q&A off the Iwata site
Q: What is the minimum compressor that would run the LHP50?
A: The LPH50 requires only 1.8cfm at 13psi therefore, a 1hp compressor would be the minimum to run the LPH50.
Thanks for the advice ;-)

With the above in mind, can anyone recommend a mini spray gun with adjustable spray pattern around .6 or .8 nozzle that's compatable with the bambi .5 or 1 hp compressor ?
I'm looking at this make because its easy available and seems very quiet.
I do have a large 200ltr shop compressor, but its away from the building where I airbrush :)

Iwata "Lph" is as low cfm as you can get compared to any other brand gun. The small nozzle RG-3 is a round spray pattern..

What dies cfm stand for airbrush dreams if you dont mind me asking
It stands for Cubic Feet per Minute. Which is the volume of air consumed from the tank. The larger the nozzle the more are is used even though you are spraying at 10 psi. Think of a car tire compared to a bicycle tire. The car tire has a lot more volume of air in it but the pressure is only 32psi. and a bike tire is smaller has less volume of air in it but is at 72psi. Hope that helps
