Hey guys I'm in trouble!!
I used some calligraphy ink in my AB the other day and ever since then any colour I use comes out the nozzle in a way like bullets from a machine gun!! It doesnt flow smoothly anymore. I tried cleaning the unit by without success. Can any one tell me where I shud b looking.

I don't have any experience with inks particularly, but spitting can be down to a couple of different things. Did you remove the needle cap and nozzle before the spitting started?

Yes I did.I opened up everything to clean

Ok, it may be that you have an air leak somewhere between the body and the nozzle cap. My advice would be to take it apart again, have a look in the nozzle to check for any junk left in there and reassemble making sure everything is tight and sealed. Which model brush do you have?

Ok.will do that.I was a bit scared to tighten the nozzle thread too much. The last time I did that with the small spanner provided, I ended up breaking the delicate thread. So just hand tightened the nozzle.I will take it apart n clean again and tightened up everything some more.thanks a lot for the advise.I dont see any dried paint or ink inside.

Absolutely be careful not to over tighten. Before you do that, it might be worth putting a small amount of chapstick or bees wax on the nozzle and nozzle cap threads. What brush do you have? Probably wait for some more experienced guys to suggest ideas before doing this.

I use an Aerograph, 0.2mm ab. Its my current favourite..Thoroughly disappointed with my H&S ultra. Feels like wasted money there.

Exactly. What I’m saying is look to seal rather than simply tighten.

A little chapstick on the threads, similar to putting locktite on a bolt thread works to seal everything and allow for a smooth flow.

Is it one of these? If it is, my advice for the nozzle is finger tight, then with the spanner just a tiny tap with your finger when its on the nozzle. Wax or chapstick on the air cap thread and you should be leak free. Is the airbrush spraying a pattern of dots or dashes when you spray? If so that could be down to the needle packing being too loose. Let us know how you get on and upload a pic of the airbrush and the spray pattern if possible.

We will help you get sorted hopefully.

Thanks for the input Lee. I’m glad to know I wasn’t too far from the ball park.

Or just drop the nozzle for the night in acetone. Or just to be sure try to get accupuncture needles. They are soft enough not to damage the nozzle but thin enough to get even the most tiny one. I think i have needles with the diameter 0.12 mm.

Btw to make sure that the acetone reached inside of the nozzle is that you can pull a thread through it and then leave it with the acetone. After that keep pulling it back and forth couple of times
