hey everybody. Just joined the site. From East Texas. Been doing models for awhile now, but I really want to explore other avenues with my brushes. Anyways I’m looking forward to learning and sharing.

Welcome from Australia, look forward to seeing what you are up to, what sort of brushes, / paint etc are you currently using ?

Paints are pretty much all over the place. Tamiya acrylics, enamels, some tube paints. Part of why I’m here is to learn about non model type paints and techniques. My brushes are 3 iwata’s. A Revolution CR 0.5, an Eclipse hp-cs 0.35, and and older hp-b 0.2.

some good brushes there, what direction are you thinking of heading ? Art - Textiles - vehicles ? It will help us suggest paint alternatives if what you have wont be suitable.

Hello from Houston. Those are great airbrushes to have. Lots of good tips and info on here.

Welcome to the forum. Looks like you’ve got a goos stable of brushes already. Feel free to post up some pictures of you models if you’re happy to do so. We love seeing all kinds of different work.

East Texas ??? Where the hell is that Oh Humble , Katy , Houston aka Hot Humid everyday all day LMAO.
Well Welcome home, I stick with West Texas aka El Paso it maybe hotter then hell there but at least the humidity is low. Can't wait to move back there when I retire :D

I’m really wanting to get into doing landscapes, still life’s, and portraits. But I’m not real sure where to start. I’ve watched some YouTube stuff and found a lot of info. So much I’ve kinda gotten saturated. So maybe you guys could suggest a good paint and supplies to start out.

There are a multitude of step by step's in the SBS and Works In Progress sections of this forum that you can just read at your leisure, every one of them will show you where to start and how to proceed, I would recommend you just find one you like and follow along with each of the steps while doing one of your own, the folks who posted them won't mind you copying their work just for learning purposes, that's why they post them.

You can watch YouTube videos and indeed videos from any other source but if you binge watch you do indeed become overwhelmed and end up knowing less than you did before you started, so just like the step by step, you would be better to choose one or two videos that show all the steps and follow it.
