Just bought my first airbrush

Hi everyone.
I just visited Movie World (QLD, Australia) and I got an airbrush tattoo. This really spiked my interest in airbrushing.

I have now purchased a Paasche Dual Action VL airbrush. I have never used one before. Want to start of slowly and get the most out of this investment as I can. I am not usually artistic, but am willing to give it a try. My son is dying for me to cover him in airbrushed tattoos!

I did some body painting and I have to say its one the more enjoyable and really fun ways to airbrush. Those alcohol based paints are not cheap though.
Welcome!

yeah I know - I just bought a set of Vallejo paints - 71 was $330 AUD ... and the temp tattoo ink was something like $37 for 4oz - ouch! But from what I understand, the paint goes a long way?!

Welcome Andrew, what kind of painting other than Body are you hoping to learn? Any models, pictures etc.

I used the el cheapo brand Custom body art that they sell online, Its actually pretty good stuff. 8 color 1 oz set is like $40. Still not cheap for body painting considering a full body paint job is likely to use the whole thing.

I 3D print models so it would be good to use it for that too - and I would like to try my hand at general art work - even just sprayjngnover printed images. Nothing too fancy!
Cool! There’s a lot to be learned from older posts on this site. When you have a question, try the search function as you’ll be amazed how many questions can be answered doing that. But if there’s nothing specific, jump into Beginners questions and ask away!

Oh hey you use 3d printing for the one thing its actually ok with... models.
JK I have a slight aversion to it bc of all the overhype and feel like its basically only good for models of parts , not real parts.
At least until you get into the high end industrial machines.

Welcome aboard from south Australia Andrew.
So are you a Qld local or just there on hols ?
