Air compressor for traveling

New member here and also new to airbrushing. We are traveling for a while so I am looking for a good, small, compact compressor to fit in our RV. Back home I have several that I can use, hotdog and pancake.

Ordered a Badger Talon from Chicago Air. Should have by weeks end.

We are near a Dock Blick, Home Depot and Harbor Fright (sp is correct LOL).

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Anything with a tank is always better. A hot dog or pancake should work fine, you just have to get the correct fittings and connectors. Good luck, and have fun.

Should be plenty of room in the RV for sumfin decent, I'd go a tanked compressor personally as it may be useful on the side of the road with the occasional flat but I spose it depends on ya space, what ya have to power it, (IE Do ya need it to run on 12 volt aswell?), how much noise ya can handle etc..I'd even consider a little 12 volt inverter of a spare battery to power a little tanked silent compressor and set up and use an old gas bottle as a resivoir, this way you can charge once or twice to get you through a nights painting, not need hooked up to the mains and be quiet enough not to annoy the wildlife at most RV parks LOL..I use an artlogic twin compressor for my quieter times, pumps out a fair bit of water though but that would be negated by a resivoir..good luck with which way ya go but yer maybe one of the ones ya have at home may be suitable..

I think you guys mean paashe talon hehe. I've never tried the stock one so can't comment. Harbor freight has a fairly cheap small compressor like the iwata studio versions. Don't last forever as they are oil less, but very quiet. Also can't have long ab sessions as they will overheat. It all really depends on the demand you will need. Noise level, cost etc.

I stand corrected. It is a Paasche. Brain fart, been looking back and forth between the two.
Re: compressor, nothing for extended use. Practice for now while we travel.

Against my better judgement, I purchased an airbrush compressor from Harbor Fright. Sale price was $59. 90 day manufacturers warranty so it will burn up after 91 days.

It's worked good so far for practicing lines, circles, etc. Does get some moisture buildup in the line even though it does have a separator. Might purchase some additional hose and move the separator farther from the compressor (?).

As I mentioned, I do have better and bigger compressors back home, this will work for now.

I have one of the Harbor Freight compressors. I got it to travel around doing airbrush tattoos. As I like to bump up the pressure for faster coverage of body painting and cleaning, the 1/5 hp was not enough. It maxed out at 20 psi while painting. So I built a small tank out of 2" PVC. Worked perfect for what I needed. I could paint at 40 psi if needed and the compressor run a lot less. I'm getting ready to build a new tank that holds the same amount of air but is more compact. Oh, the tank worked out to be about 1/3 gallon. Not much but it made a huge difference and only cost a few bucks.
