Congratz on the investment! :)
I've got the exact same ab, I promise you're gonna love it!

Oooooh WoW!! What a load of lovely things. They look totally scrumptious :D Enjoy yourself with your new CM-C+ it looks amazing and I have to say I much prefer a 0.23mm setup than a 0.18mm. Congrats on getting the Com-Art paint, a very good choice and cool Shields too :) I see loads of fun in your future my friend lol:laugh:

Nice little care pckg you got there :). If you decide you dont want any of those goodies I can PM you my address...lol

Ya that was a $1000 dollar haul right there and I'm not done. Tomorrow I'm ordering 2 needles and some other goodies from Coast.

Anyways here are my initial thoughts after a couple hour run.....

A) Definitely a big step up from my CS.
B) Gonna have to get used to her as this is defiantly a detail brush, I actually have the confidence to do more things freehand without friskit
C) The MAC valve definitely worth it, I never used a MAC before and thought I would never use one but wow being able to adjust at a fingertip is awesome
D) I am disappointed at Iwata for a few things, one of which is that I have never felt such a rough needle. When I pay for your flagship product I expect the very best from it.
E) I did an initial quick lube and check before using but I think I need to do a full tear down and clean and lube and I think it has been sitting awhile and there is a slight stick in the trigger.

People have been polishing Iwata needles for ages. Learn to do it and feel you just make that brush a bit more awesome.

Ya I know I talked about polishing my CS needle but I am afraid to try with the micron because I haven't got a spare needle yet and without a spare if I screw up I don't want to be out in the cold. I hope I can get them quick from Coast. Anyone here have Coast expedite an order or do overnight shipping?

Awesome package. Enjoy it.

I've never gone overboard when I polished my needles. The airbrushes needles that is. Only some rubbing compound and then polishing compound.

Yes I agree with you about the Iwata Micron needles because the ones I have for my CM-SB are not as good as my Olympos Micron needles that are more polished and have a longer, smoother taper. Olympos Micron parts fit Iwata Microns so I use an Olympos needle in my CM-SB. Having said that I'm thinking of polishing all my Micron needles with Polishing Compound because both types seems too rough for my liking and too much paint sticks to the tip. I will do it VERY carefully :D

Ya because of my other thread about polishing needles I was looking into needle materials and found that they do make tungsten needles for science applications. Like they have this one site that sells tungsten needles for an xacto like handle tool that they use for dissecting animals and whatnot. They are actually extremely sharp and durable but tend to be highly expensive. So it seems that a tungsten needle would be durable enough for airbrush applications it is just that it is not economically feasible at this time.

The price is higher just because it is destined for laboratory or medical use most probably and not because of anything else. This is my personal opinion and does not necessarily reflect the views of this forum [emoji12]

Your probably right, like sterilized and everything. Just like when I was looking into air compressors somebody said to look up dental compressors and wow were they expensive for what you get. Just because they provide "clean dry air" for dental drills and whatnot.

Wow I have two needles a crown cap (I wanted one to modify, I want to take a dremel to it), the square main lever and a quick disconnect coming from Coast overnight and hopefully will be here tomorrow. Anyways that is probably the last time I ask for expedited shipping from coast cause damn was it expensive. On a $120 order I ended up paying another $50 in shipping and I don't possibly see how it could cost that much as I am on the west coast too and the things I am getting would only add up to maybe a pound or two tops.

Ok so since I have my package arriving tomorrow by noon it says (lol we will see) with my new needles I decided to have a go at mine with some 1500 grit sandpaper and a drill. All I wanted to do was polish and not change anything and wow does wet sanding make a difference. Take a look. This is before and after but the first pic came out after anyways the shiny one is the after.2014-09-18 18.48.00.jpg

From what I have read, and do, you should go even finer. Down to 2500 grit.

I use a dremel with a tiny buffing wheel in one hand with white or rust brown polishing compound on it, then I rotate it with the other hand. You have to do this in the right direction or you may end up with a needle through your hand.
I can polish a needle to mirror perfection in a minute at most.

I have 3000 grit 3m paper and 1 micron diamond paste coming in tomorrow so I will update after I try with that
Yeah I wanna see that. I didn't even know they made 3000 grit. Might end up framing that needle.
