Hi, I just recently started to experiment with airbrushes.
I've been a hobby artist you might say for more than 26 years my main area of interest is pinup art/comic and anime or eastern art?
Ok tools
Compressor. sparmax 520
Airbrush badger patriot, great little brush, easy to clean and works great.
Also recently purchased a iwata cm c plus, love this brush even though I'm new to this art form I wanted a finer detail brush to compliment my badger.
My first few works I used frisket and and had troubles with the frisket tearning the paper :(. I've bought some hot pressed paper to try and some illustration board also hoping this works better.
I've thought about getting a airbrush for a while now, and now I have, I'm loving it :)

Hi Mathew and welcome aboard, in regards to your frisket stick it to your clothing a couple of times this will take a lot of the stickyness off it and should stop it lifting your surface

Hi From New Zealand... lots of cool stuff here - and heaps of really helpful people!

Welcome from Lincoln in the UK. I'm going to start with a question straight away so sorry to spring this on you but I am as new to airbrushing as can be. I did a search on this site for the badger 105 patriot which I have would you be kind enough to let me know what air pressure you are running yours at and what paint you are using? I am having a few problems I am using Vallejo Paints and running the psi at about 28. any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I'm pretty new also. been using my badger for about a month? I think.

Airbrush paint. I'm using createx wicked, just recently bought some black and some white createx illustration paint that I am trying out also, both
seem like really good paints.

My first thought is that 28 sounds a bit high? but from what I have read it depends on a lot of factors. I use between 18 and 21 psi.

I wish I new a bit more, but I think setting the airpressure depends on how thick the paint is. or how thinned down it is and needle size. The patriot
has a .3 needle I think and should be able to paint pretty well with all paints.

hope I have helped some.

I'm pretty sure the needle that comes with it is the .5mm (F), I bought the larger .75mm (M). I think the .3mm is purchased separately as the Ultra Fine conversion kit.

The .5mm is very forgiving with paint reductions, and the psi should be fine around 20-30, but I know nothing of the paints being used.
