Morning guys and girls,

Newbie here so bear with me please,

Ok, so when I push down for air I get a nice constant air flow, as soon as I pull back it start to splutter.. So I stripped the airbrush down and cleaned it all out and started again.

Now I've noticed if I fill the cup with paint, push down for air, the cup of paint starts to bubble as if air is getting in there.... However I've cleaned the airbrush around 3-4 times now but still the same.

Any help is appreciated guys! Many thanks

Hi and welcome from N.Wales.
Why don't you go to you profile page and fill out on details about yourself and where you're from? I may help us to help you if we know something about where you are and the equipment you have.
There are Loads and loads of posts on this problem and if you do a search I'm sure will find the answers to most if not all of your problems ;)
But If you have bubbles in your cup it's almost certain you have a blockage around the cone and the cone cap forcing the air to go up inside the cup instead of out the end. If you have a magnifying glass have a look, if not do a Thorough Clean.
hope this helps

Thank you oddball,

I have changed the needle and the cone etc and ran a little thinners through the gun and the spray pattern seems fine now.

I'm just on my way to purchase some wicked paints to use instead of this cheap rubbish I got with the airbrush.

I do have one more problem if you can help when I push down for air it takes a while to come back up so when I release the air is still going. It's seems like it's sticking almost.

I will update profile shortly.

Thanks for your help

Much appreciated

Need to know what airbrush you have as they aren't all designed the same. Typically trigger sticks because there is gunk on the valve and causes the spring to not instantly release. A drop of lube should fix this

I had this problem recently and On my Iwata eclipse and as justin says, it was just some crud gunging up the little plunger, a clean and lube sorted it out :)

Thanks guys, I have just went and got some airbrush cleaner and a set of wicked paints rather than the cheap crop I've got and shoots fine now. Although trigger still a little sticky.

I've also updated profile oddball.

The airbrush I'm using is a HS-34 is all I can find about it, if that makes any sence to you guys. It is t nothing big and special as my intention was to practice a little before hand.

That would be a cheap knockoff from spraymaster. You can try adjusting the trigger tension back a hair if it even has one, some airbrushes, especially knockoffs have issues with besides they are complete junk to begin with, that if you have the tensioner adjusted too tight, it puts too much pressure on the trigger and makes it hang up momentarily. Also look at your trigger and the opening for it on the body. If you see any scraping or brass showing, the parts don't fit properly (shocker, NOT) and you can sand/file it away to make it smoother and fit better. With cheap airbrushes, you will constantly fight them. You can make them work, but takes a deep understanding to know how to modify them to work.

Yes buddy it was a cheapo just to get me started, but was working fine before but now all of a sudden it's sticky however I've been battling with it and have made some progress but I think a new one is on the cards next week!

But thanks for all the help guys!

If this is what you've got, I started with something like this and to be honest unless you have some previous experience and are very mechanically minded this is going cause you more grief that your probably up for.

Since getting my Iwata, I generally use this to carry out one of my other hobbies which is flogging dead horses, although it certainly does the horse a lot of damage I still can't get the bugger to yelp, lol

I recommend you take a look at the Ultra from harder & steenbeck or the revolution from Iwata, these are budget range airbrushes from two of the best manufacturers and although you can get them for a song they still carry the respective guarantees and spares are easy to get, I could also recommend the Neo for Iwata but I'm afraid I might be sent to Coventry, I have one and have never had a problem with it, but most will say I'm lying, lol

Just a little warning bud, try to stay away from that alibaba website, it's riddled with Trojans and other malicious malware.

Thanks for the heads up Justin, fortunately I never use these places for purchases, I normally buy all my supplies locally, never really had the patience for or online buying.
