hello i am using wickedpaint and devilbiss dagr on hard projects i cant get it to not splater i have lowered air pressure added more paint on paper it works great but on plastic or metal i just cant get it right is there something i need to do or do i just need to play around with it to i get it right also i am a complete beginner i just started airbrushing

Do you mean it is grainy or is it spidering? Grainy then the air is too low and/or paint is too thick. Spidering the air is too high/paint too thin or you are moving too slow.

Sounds like you have it too reduced with too high psi. Hard surfaces deflect paint instead of absorb like paper so it reacts differently. A lot of us work down in the 10 - 15 psi range with over reduced paint. What is your reduction and psi?

my psi has been 5to30 psi evan at 5psi it still splaters like water i added more paint but did not work my reduction is 2to1 and 3to1 both did the same i am thinking i just have to keep playing with the ratios and psi also it only does it for detail broad spraying is fine

You may be too close to the surface as well. You can get pretty fine detail without being right on the surface. Just keep messing with your reduction and psi till you find that sweet spot.also I'd you don't have your crown cap off then it needs to be taken off because of the vortex it makes

2:1 and 3:1 is not much of a reduction. I reduce my Com-art, which is a this paint already, sometimes up to 15-20:1 and at 5 psi it works great. But like Immortal said, maybe you are just too close. I still think you might be moving too slow.
