If you really want to use uro's in the house, you can... I did before I got the shop. I still could if I could be botherd to finish the new home booth.

I built a 10x8 foot booth in the basement. Sealed it up nice n tight, extracted it out through the wall, into a nice big Charcol filter. Used that booth for 3 years, done all my 2k clear coating in there as well. Never a complaint from family or neighbours. Of course, you do need some space!

I use trident ab paints which spray great and i have yet to have an issue .I also use my automotive paint schemes which give me great diversity due to the out of the pot metallic, pearl ,xrilliac & solid colours within the 62 tint system . These are also waterbased paints but some airbrushes dont like to spray them due to the size of the pigments used and its a must to filter before use . I do use solvent primer most of the time and obviously 2k clears & candies . There is still a place for solvent based paint especially candies but that will also change in the future .

I've receive my free Jacquard sample and try it yesterday. I can't say I like it ... but its not bad. Only try the trasparent black for now ... but if you really want it transparent, you have to recuce it or its way too much opaque. Tip dry was acceptable. I dont like the granny spray and its hard too control at low pressure! Still do spidering effect at 10psi ... but maybe ive just over reduce it.

For my opinion, its like regular createx with lower viscosity... and close too comart (when reduced)

But, I still prefer wicked !

I need too found really cheap sample of etac and trident now!

Envoyé depuis mon Android via Tapatalk 4!

I use HoK for base, candy, pearl and clear. For illustration using wicked and just got some E-tac to try.

What do you use for sealing ( the transparent plastics ) ? Vapour barrier is good for that ? And where you get your filter (exhaust fan too i supposed) ?

I use AA, Wicked, Wicked illustration, and E'tac.

I like them all. I just got the e'tac Monday and so far I really like it. very little tip dry, sprays nice, easy to erase, and it smells great...lol. I also really like the wicked illustration. It sprays very nicely, very little tip dry.

They are both great paints id give e'tac the edge because it erases better. But I'm glad I have them both.

Hi, I can`t go past Trident. Been using it since it came on the market. A bit pricey, but a little goes a long way on helmets. I have thinned it out further than instructed and had no problems. Also it is compatible with thinners based paints, and there is no problem spraying one on top of the other. It is not as scratch resistant as base coat, but I clear coat it as I go, by keeping some clear coat in one of my airbrushes and that eliminates the problem. You can apply masking film or masking tape over it straightaway with no problems of lifting paint. WAY TO GO!.

I got the wicked detail (couldn't afford the illustration) and the 500 reducer. I though love how it sprays, I should have gone back to the com-art as the reducer puts a strong smell in the paint and I paint indoors even with dual box fans it stays and stays.

Etac for me all the way , I love the way I can manipulate it and make it work for me and not the other way around :)

Received some Badger Air paints with the compressor & amthem155 I bought off a guy. The White is all clumped & can't seem to get it thinned out. Others were not that bad but had to do some work. Just ordered the Wicked primary set (2oz bottles) for $21. Hopefully I'll get better satisfaction with those. I'm sure if I had some new Badger Airs they would be fine also - just the ones I got were old.

I use mostly ETAC EFX and Createx Illustration. If I could only choose one it would definitely be ETAC for the spray ability , erasing, and lack of tip dry.

Had a bit of a play with most of the cheaper types of acrylics, but I really like Golden hi-flow acrylic.
Have used Daler Rowney FW inks and found them to be very good for most airbrushing on papers and boards.
Jaquard paints worked well, but require straining after a short time from opening the bottle, as it gets gritty and clogs up your gun.
These are some of my experiences with different AB stuff.
I have never sprayed HOK, or any other urethane based paint, so I can't make a comparrison.
One of the big deterents is the price [retail ].
Man, you'd need to mortgage the house to be able to afford some of that stuff.
Well, in Australia, anyway.
