Will Aztek side cups fit a Badger 100?

No, they will not fit the 100SF. The hole is too small. However, Badger sells an adapter for the Renegade Spirit and Thayer & Chandler Omni 6000 that will accept the Aztek cups. It is part number T893.

Thanks. Unfortunately the Spirit and the Omni 6000 both have the same problem (for me) of having a much longer distance between trigger and tip. One of the things I really like about the SOTAR as a detail brush is that short distance (makes it feel more like drawing with a pen/pencil). The 100 body would actually shorten that even further, which is one of the reasons why I was considering doing this.

Do you think it would be feasible to drill/ream out the cup stem hole to accept the Aztec cups, or would a diameter change there screw up the fluid dynamics of the needle channel or something?

OT: You probably get this a lot, but your website is one of the very best (if not THE best) resources out there for an airbrush newbie. It was invaluable to me when I was shopping for a new brush this year, and continues to be so. Just wanted to take the opportunity to give you a great big digital "thank you" handshake. You rock, mate!

I couldn't have said that better myself, I've always thought there should be a permanent link to Don's site since its the first place everyone should look before parting with money for a new brush.

Your reviewing is outstanding Don, as is your input here, it is good to know that someone exists like yourself who is ready and willing to guide the consumer to a happy purchase thereby saving those of us clever enough to use your services a whole lot of wasted money and grief:thumbsup:

Thank you for the comments on the site, guys. I appreciate them.

I don't see why you couldn't enlarge the hole in the 100. It's the spout on the cups that's tapered. You would have to determine the right drill or ream size, and there's the chance you could screw up your 100 body if you don't get it straight. A machine shop could also make an adapter to step up the hole size.

Thanks. I was thinking of buying one of Badger's ex-demo "garage sale" 100s to try it out. That way if it does mess things up, I'm not out much. If it does work out, it might be a useful mod to post here for others, so it feels worth it as an experiment.

And if that works I might then take it a step further and see if I can drill all the way through and fit an Iwata HP-SBS cap on the other side for an ambidextrous conversion.
