Un-pimp my Evolution

AndreZA

Air-Valve Autobot!
Most know that I won the H&S Evolution CR+ in a POM a few months ago. I love the gun, even more than my Infinity. BUT just like the Infinity, I do not like all the gold bits on it. So I decided to un-pimp or de-pimp it to make it fit in with the rest of my guns. I also did not care for the 0.15 setup as I already had the Micron that could do finer work.

So I changed it from this...

Into this. I changed the needle and nozzle to 0.2. Trigger assembly and waist from an Evolution AL Plus and and a micro cup that is basically only a threaded collar to protect the threads.

Can't wait to give her a go.

Cool, you obviously have too many guns to play around with :) my only gun is the Krome so fell free to send any leftovers you have my way ;)

Nice job, I actually like the pimp look, seen a micron all dressed up,started to look for the parts but I think they were mostly one offs for Marisa

Smiler.... you can get the K33 needle that marissa uses and also the gold cups for the sb from foxy....... The needle is awesome, I havnt got the gold cup yet they are coated with ti.n i think that titanium nitrate but i cant be sure, basically it stops the paint sticking to the cup meaning easier cleaning...... and also looks the bees knees

Seen the k33 needle was now available to the public, but last time I looked the gold cup was out of stock, was going ask someone to get me them for a prezzie, but I suppose I should learn to use it first before I pimp it.

Probably a good idea since the needle would require you to remortgage your house and your good lady may just set the dog on you;)

I think you'll like the .2mm, it's pretty versatile. It's nice too that all the H&S parts are interchangeable.
I personally didn't like the Micro Cup because I backflush my paint to mix quite a bit and it doesn't work well with the micro. Also can't do real high reductions because the cup only holds about 10 drops.

"really really cool" master brushes ?????? maybe , really, really lukewarm if you're lucky, master airbrushes is more realistic LOL!lollol
Or you could get a really cool masters airbrush and a compressor to go with it... Love the unpimp - I don't do gold, much more a silver lad!

I played a bit and the bigger nozzle is easier to handle. I see what you say about the micro cup. But I paint a lot with just a drop or two of paint that I reduce further.

Since you use ETAC, you should be ok with the Micro cup. It only takes a bit of reducer to keep good paint flow. Createx Illustration takes a lot more reducer to work consistently, which fills the cup pretty quickly.
