Hello im jay from george wa. I work on a farm, ride harleys, and watch live hockey.

I am newb when it comes to airbrushing. like 1 day old....

Equipment is:
Airbrush: NEO for Iwata .35 needle
Compressor: Sparmax TC-501N
Paint: Createx Opaque and Transparent

My first trials with my airbrush. Top is poster board it sucked bad. Bottom is printer paper. i reduced all paints to milky like but dang brush still gets alot of tip dry and does not clean out easily..

welcome aboard. starting out is always fun,
Createx Opaque and transparent ? do you mean the textile paint, if so then you'll need to reduce it heavily as its designed for a .5 needle. your better off with Createx Wicked or illustration, or even ETAC, I think you'll find that is most of your frustration, youre trying to push porridge through your brush,

if you haven't already got it get some createx restorer, it can be reused so its quite economical, but just a little in the cup, let it soak for a little while then you'll be get rid of the paint, then flush several times with water.

I had a lot of tip dry when I first started due to concerntrating so hard on keeping air on, so there was more air than paint, and what little paint did get sprayed then got dried by all the air LOL,
it can be frustrating but once you get the hang of it, its easier and a lot more fun.

Thanks for info. I was thinking about illistartor and wicked after reading about them. only reason why i have the basic acrylics is cause thats all the store had locally. and what sucks is pic two was going rather well till about half way thru then tip dry screwed me bad lol

If you haven't already looked then check out a "how to deal with tip dry" video. Pretty sure Mitch (THE airbrush tutor) has one, but you need to remove the cap and remove the dry paint, it can be OFTEN when using white, it seems to be the most common color to cause issues.
There are several methods of achieving the removal of paint but whatever you choose be VERY gentle, you can easily bend a needle tip just by being a little to rough

Howdy from across the country. Looks like you're off to a decent start I wasn't that good my first day :p love that wicked paint. I don't even practice or goof around with createx regular anymore it's so bad. Saving my left over for t shirts. Glueing two tooth brushes together like in Mitch's tip dry video was a life saver for me

Welcome to the Forum and your Fantastic journey into airbrushing.. You will have a steep hill to climb at the start but don't despair, keep reading articles on the forum and ask questions if you can't find answers. We're all here to help you get better and once you start learning it does get easier.

Welcome from the uk Jay. I can only agree with the great advice already given, and say that you do not have the ideal paint to learn with. Check out the videos Herb aka Mr.Micron suggested and give the exercises a go. They are the foundation for all you need to be a killer AB artist, that along with some better suited paint that's less frustrating, and you'll be away!

Welcome to the fold Jay from just due west of ya in Gig Harbor :)

Not sure what you could pick outa my pee-brain lol but I would be happy to eat pizza :). Still very much a beginner myself. We do have a local legend here by the name of @Visual Realm too (Now that would be the brain to pick :) ).

Cool thanks for info. And you been beginner longer and teaching is best way to learn.

Great to see another Washintonian on here! I wouldnt label myself as a legend, but im alright! Maybe we can all get together sometime, I like pizza too:thumbsup:

Ya this winter is when I have the most time. I'd enjoy that figure since no classes near me be nice to have any face to face input to help me get the small basic things figured out.
