Well I have booked up today and really looking forward to it ,I'm hoping it's going to progress me from my match stick men to something resembling an art form . The hands are working a lot better since treatment and it's been far too long since I was ab anything ,so gotta get some serious practice in .

Nice to see you around again Ferret, I've wondered a few times where you've been, I hope you'll stick around and have some fun with us, and I hooe you have a great time on the course.

It's always a great feeling when earlier members return to us:thumbsup:

Good to see you again Ferret, as you can see the usual suspects are still here. Well apart from Seamonkey, Someone has him captive we think.

Glad to be back people ,with improved health comes motivation to get back in to what I have admired for years . I am treating the whole thing as a newbie so practicing all the basics and hopefully it will all come back . I actually did the "eye" tutorial today ,eye ok texture fine IMHO eyelashes a bit hit and miss but hey I was always bad at lashes lol . It's good to see the forum still here and that Mitch is doing what he loves . Got a bit of thread reading to catch up on ! Thanx for the welcome people'speople's

Hey ferret, really good to see you around here again!!!!!! And so glad to hear that you're health has improved, and you can get back to doing this :) Won't take you long to get back into the swing of things I bet, sounds like you're well on the way, just need to get that muscle memory back and you'll be up and running.

Not at all jealous you are on the course...... Lol. lollollol It's going to be amazing!

Thanx Squish ,yes I really want to get back into it ,I just am so amazed at the quality of work you all achieve and I want to get back somewhere near as I sort of got stuck in a rut if you know what I mean ,so I said lets do the course meet the man himself who got me going in the first place and just maybe at the end I will be able to produce something I feel proud of and give me the kickstart to produce more than stencil type helmet jobs etc . I will do an honest review of the course for you all afterwards ,but I am sure it will be nothing but positive .

Well not long now people ,look forward to meeting all who are attending faces to names etc and the man himself .

image.jpg Hello people's ,well I did it I completed the ABT course ( shock lol ) so here's a review . First off thanx to Mitch for being patient and putting us on the right track ,when we sat there with a vacant ,I,m stuck look on our faces . This course was packed with info that now digested will tack me a lot further forward . We had a day of Color mixing and identification which is a really big help once you get to grips with it . And Mitch was more than happy to keep drumming the info in . We then went into the image transfer and started to paint ,like Mitch said it won't look anything until towards the end . Yep he was right mine looked pants way to dark due to being totally unable to control the supplied airbrushes & yes it was me not the tools . Mitch just reassured us to keep moving on and it will get better . I think most of us got a tad frustrated that we was struggling to see in the image all that ABT could see and then get it down again we got a lot of reaurances from ABT . Things came together on the last day and although the pieces were not completely finished ,I could see where and why I went wrong and what I need to do which is just remember and practice what I have been taught .The course did seam intense at times but us oldies do take a tad longer to take in info and digest it lol . Was it all worth it a BIG YES. From me and I would wholly recommend if you get the opportunity to attend then go for it . I will now try and attach my unfinished first Color portrait attempt .

Well the pics I saw on FB looked fab. And ALL of the snacks on hand by the look of things Lol!
Will you go ahead and finish this ferret? Or are you now planning on breaking out your gear and trying something new! Looks like you should be able to tackle anything after this. My jealousy knows no bounds!

Hi ya squishy , yes I am going to try and finish and refine this one and need to lighten her tan a bit lol . I will do another copy and implement. Hopefully what I have learnt and not make the same mistakes . I do have some others that I want to do . Just typing up my notes and reminders for future reference cos I will forget .

I was raised in Chicago, keep me posted Mitch! I live in Nashville Tn whis covers a lot of places within hours

Another Chicago native here. Maybe by next year I can afford to get back up there! It is only a day and a half from here:)

if you want cheap clayboard I have just ordered from here... www.cassart.co.uk looks a little cheaper than the prices Mitch was quoting. Had mine delivered today and looks fine.
