Hi i live in Charlotte North Carolina and i'm new to airbrushing i'm about to order my very first kit tomorrow
i have never used an airbrush before and i needed help to see what type of kit i should get and they were very helpful and they told me i should go to the introduction page and say hi
this is the kit i was looking at what do you think?? http://www.harborfreight.com/1-5-hp-58-psi-compressor-and-airbrush-kit-95630.html
i want to paint t-shirts and sneakers

Hi there, the kit you are looking at isnt the best but it will work.

Are you serious about this hobby?

If you are serious then i would not buy this kit as you will probably have trouble with it.
I would invest in a good starter airbrush, maybe an iwata eclipse or one of the badger airbrushes. I cant suggest a compressor as i dont know whats available in the states but im sure our other members in you're neck of the woods will give you more information.
Unfortunately if you're on a budget this probably isnt what you want to hear but so may members have done the same thing to save money and have ended up spending twice or have given up because of issues.

welcome aboard...
you are experiencing your first learning curve !! as Jord001 has stated, the kit isn't ideal. I've only been airbrushing for a short time and I've literally just binned my 'knock off' brush. it gave me grief for the last time.

if you are not wanting to do any sort of detail work then it may do you for now. but expect some frustrations.
No one is suggesting that you buy mega dollar equipment but its worth saving a few more pennys and getting an entry level brush from one of the brand name brushes.

After my NEO I have decided to take their advice and goto hobby lobby today before the 40% off coupon expires and buy a Iwata HP-CS they only sell it in a kit but should be about 125 after coupon. Also get good paint grab createx wicked I tried plain createx and have had many issues. So spend the bit extra and get something that's proven to work. If you want to goto hobby lobby download the app and the 40% coupon is good for one item ends today. But ya could use someone else to buy 2 items like beginner pack of wicked.

Anyways welcome and good luck hope that touch of info helps ya avoid some major headaches.

Besides the brush, what comes in the kit?:)

Welcome from the Uk xavier :), I can recommend the HP-CS, but any branded brush will be better than one of those in the kit, they are hit and miss, and even if they work at first don't tend to work well consistantly after a relatively short time., and make learning way harder.

I know it's got paint not sure on brand. And I believe hose but not sure. I'll be headed to get mine in a hour I can post follow up of what's in it and cost after coupon.

I'll send ya PM after I grab it

It comes with a filter a.d a couple of bottles of com art paint... and superlube. Well worth the money.

Yup got it here. Pistol grip filter. Super lube. Cleaner and Com art red blue yellow 1oz. Oh and 126 with coupon that ends today. 40% found on hobby lobby app

Dang wish I had got that over my sparmax lol. May still get that one for other projects.

Don't worry about Sparmax, they are a good brand, I think they are what Iwata use for their compressors. I have a TC2000 compressor and it is very reliable although its in the loft as a spare at the moment.

Ya I like it just runs alot but hasn't gotten super hot yet. Got it with 40% off week ago.

Hobby Lobby sells a couple of the Iwata AB's. Get yourself an Iwata Eclipse. Its a good all round brush.. a workhorse! Then pick up a couple of paints and you will need the reducer. Like Mr. Micron said, a compressor from Home Depot or Lowes will be fine. Make sure you get an in-line filter. You need to make sure water doesn't get into the brush. I started with Createx Wicked paint; which Hobby Lobby also sells. There is a learning curve as to the psi, reduction of paint and handling of the AB. So, practice is the key. If you have questions.. post em up. :)
