H&S seal fits Micron

In the "Micron Upgrade" @Ronald art mentioned that he would not change the rubber needle seal of the Micron. I've been thinking about changing mine for a while but because I only use waterbased paints and has never had any issues, it was last on my to-do list.

I few months ago I cleaned my Infinity and somehow lost one of its three seals. I tried using it with just two but it does not work. So I bought a new three pack and replaced all three. Then I had the two used ones for spares. After reading Ronald's comment I thought I should give it a go in the Micron.

The H&S one is a fraction bigger than the stock one but it still fits the screw. It gives a bit of resistance without tightening it all the way and that is what you want.

I've been painting for over an hour with it and no leaks what so ever.

The used H&S one is on the left and the stock Micron on the right.

Nice little trick that Andre, the proper Teflon seal is only 3€ to buy for the micron but still good to know as I have a couple of old ones as I have put new ones in my AL plus.

I love my Micron as you all know but the V2 has a teflon seal that is no good atleast not to me , I want a smooth trigger action and the teflon seal prevents that. somehow it is to hard or something like that it causes the needle to "stick" in the seal and not go all the way back in the nozzle again .
I only use waterbased paint as well so I had the teflon seal removed and replaced for the good old rubber one and the problem is solved , no more sticky feel , and more important : the micron hasnt got a mind of its own anymore . The SM K33 however has a special seal that works even better than the rubber one and I will go for that option as soon as they hit the market

I will also change it back. Not because it affects the performance but because I don't need the teflon seal. If I paint solvent based paint, atleast I know I can change it for something before I start.

Did one more test. These seals works 100% in the old HP range as well. Those guns also came out with rubber packing seals.

Interesting. I have been thinking of getting a teflon seal, just because I am used to having one in the hp-cs, and on rare ocassions repair scratches on paintwork. I thought the finer atomisation of the micron would make seamless blending a little easier, but if it affects performance I may not bother.

This H&S seal did not affect performance in my Micron the least. I just changed back because I don't use solvent paints and there is nothing wrong with the rubber seal. If it does wear out, I will go teflon.
