Mixing opaque and trans paints

I'm just getting started trying to mix my own colors. Couple or so questions:
I've settled on using ComArt paint as it is working fine for me so these are based on those paints
Is it ok to mix opaque and trans paints? I only do it because I may have the color I want to add to a mix in one or the other, not any special effect. Is there any special effect? Or problems?

Another question I forgot to add, in the ConArt line, which colors are the truest red, yellow, and blue to use as primaries for mixing?

Yes it's OK to mix trans and opaque, the trans is an opaque paint without a base added. In simple terms paint is a pigment (the colour), a carrier (to keep the pigment in suspension) and a thinner to make it flow. Often the pigment is a white or black base with other colour added to make it the colour you want. A transparent just has the pigment, no base. Remember you will still be dealing with an opaque paint.
