Looking for a "cool" black.

Triple Actioner
Hi Everyone,
I did a quick search on this issue and found nothing. If this has been addressed in another thread then please accept my apologies for being hasty and not searching longer.
I am working on a painting of a cloudy sky. It is mixed with blue sky and clouds. I am combining equal amounts of basic Createx black and Createx blue, then mixing with my desired amount of Wicked white (#30) to create my shades of gray.
My issue is that my grays are still too warm in tone for my preferences.
Is there a black paint available which is cool in temperature so my grays will be cooler?
Attaching a pic of my first attempt.
Thank you for reading.

im going through something similar, im looking for a cool black, and i found one that was exactly want i wanted but the overspray was intense, it was copic, they have a million and one refills for their markera, they are alcohol base, it was called special black, and i did order blue black by windsor and newtow, its calligraphy knk, but i didnt recieve it yet, hplefully its what im looking for

May just be your ratios as essentially adding blue to your grey should indeed cool the grey. But try perhaps mixing your greys first just from the white and black. Then adding your blue to this mix.I think you may find in your color mixing tht the 50% of black and blue in essence the black may just be way overdominating the blue...Add more blue essentially, see if that helps. Now there is no real reason I can think off why your grey is more towards a warm grey than a cool. Its very rare to come across blacks based in red or green in airbrush paint, most are blue based which should essentially already create a cool grey simply by adding the white and black together (Its why we get blueshift essentially as the black is blue based), but can depend on brand etc not sure what Createx black is based in but sometimes, just changing the brand makes a real big difference to black or white use. Some imo are simply better than others. Also if your using straight out Createx, it really isn't designed for this application..Its a Tshirt paint, you may get better results with a dedicated illustration style range, less grainyness, easier application and purer color. Kinda like the difference between using poster paint back in the day at school and then getting introduced to Windsor Paints and see the diff LOL.

Couldn't you add a little black to Paynes grey to create a cool black or dark grey?

The Paynes Grey would cool it down for sure but essentially he's kinda making Paynes Grey which is Black with a very small amount of blue touch of burnt sienna as mentioned above..Not heaps of blue, just a touch. Kinda why I think the 50-50 black/blue mix the poster made is likely the issue..Paynes grey is normally made by using a blue base and adding just a few drops of burnt sienna carefully LOL and a few drops of black to it until to reach the right shade, shld be a purply blue black. Adding to much black could be overdominating the blue and lots of blue will essentially keep it cold, its the sienna that warms it a bit..Then add your white at the end, again just a few drops to assist opaqness but not change it too much into pastel, if it does, few more drops of blue, sienna or the black to bring back the vibrancy of the grey pending n its needs...

Thank you everyone for your input. I now have a few new and different ideas to try out.
Hoping to get this figured out so I can start on my next attempt with clouds.
