I have had them for about a month and I’m starting to use them as value starters for colour matching! I suppose not what was intended! I had a go at the method but will need to practice a lot to get it to work a good standard!!

Something I started, kind of has a mother of pearl effect when used subtly, will finish it one day! DF4683DB-DE72-410F-9020-CA72F1D73243.jpeg

I use the Brusaille technique. It is just a brown base instead of grey. The painting I'm now doing is grisaille. The special bit about the Air Oil and Lead system is that it is CMYK and not RYB. And there are all the grey values to help with the underpainting.

I first seen CMYK many years ago in an airbrush magazine. IMO, there is a reason you don't see hardly anyone using it with the airbrush. It's just too difficult to visualize what color you will end up with by layering vs pre-mixing. Most people, including myself, are not able to separate out that 3 color system like a screen printer. It's all software now.

I'm not sure what the advantage is, if any. I know if you're a master paint mixer, you may get away with less bottles of paint.

Having access to a 9 gradation standardized grey mix that doesn't separate or stratify in your airbrush is a big bonus.
