I remember vividly back in 1972 attending a Deep Purple concert and seeing two classmates with their father across the floor - thinking why would an "Old Guy" come to a Rock Concert?!? When I saw my friends the following week in the school hall, I asked why did their father attend the concert. They told me he likes exploring "new" things!
Now I am the "Old Guy" - lesson learned!
Two time cancer survivor has me wanting to explore creativity.
Looking to learn tips, techniques, better - best tools, paints and possibly along the way make a couple new friends.
I am a Sr Regional Construction Mgr for a very large retailer. The pressures and trials of construction has me seeking a little creative solitude. Ready to learn....

    Welcome home Tomar.
As far as best tools , You can pick from Iwata, Harder & Steenbeck , Badger and paasche, The down side is picking which airbrush fits you and how you paint . So there is really not a right answer other then the named brands seem to hold up in the long run. The only airbrush I will recommend due to it being a work horse and with practice can do everything would be the Iwata Eclipse CS(or BSC if you like siphon feed over gravity feed).
As far as paint I suggest printing off a bunch of hobby lobby 40% off coupons and getting all your friends and family and load up on Wicked Colors ,
Hobby also carries some of the Candy 2O colors which is a true water based candy dye and some of the autpborne sealers incase you want to do some work on metal and plastic.
I saw deep purple in the early 70's too but then again I am still taking my kids to concerts of their choosing cause that is what dad's do :D

Welcome Aboard, Tomar! @Mr.Micron is spot on with equipment recommendations. I'd add a compressor made for airbrushing with a tank if you're planning on doing your work indoors in your home. Everybody here is ready to help. Glad to have you with us!

I saw them again just before Jon Lord left the group in 02 with my then 11 year old son... Not quite the same but my son is a huge fan! I will heed your advice and really appreciate & thank you sincerely for your thoughts/wisdom. This forum seems to be awash with a lot of fine folks! Hope to return the favor some day...

    Welcome from Australia,
I see on your profile you are from Michigan, there are quite a few members from the US here and they’ll likely be along soon to jump on the welcome wagon.

Creativity is a double edged sword at times, it can be equally relaxing and frustrating!
What gear if any do you currently have and where are you hoping this journey will take you ? Art works, T-shirt’s or fishing lures ... the possibilities abound .

You’re in good company with your age
