Well after the poor excuse of a background and after 7hrs this morning yep I was up at 3.30 am trying to amend my back ground I decided to start again. Don't get me wrong the background ended up OK but it wasn't in the end what i wanted( not clean enough) if that makes sense.

Well I've started it again. Advice is all ways welcome as is criticism so live started with Sienna and a touch of shadow grey but I'm not going to thin my paint as much as I previously have as i think this is where I'm running i to problems. Slow start but i think in the right direction

Paid £40.00 for customs and handling so It should be here tomorrow.
Royal Mail had to send me a letter first so I could pay the charges before they will deliver it. So providing I'm home to receive it I should have it in my hand tomorrow.

Thankyou Joe I can't wait to play with it

well I've watch a film with the wife and then the dog was sick all over my son's bed so I'm now waiting for the washing machine to stop so I can go to bed.

While I was waiting I did a little bit more to the Hummingbird. I'm all cleaned up in the Kitchen/studio ready to make breakfast in the morning. So here is a little update. 20180809_002540.jpg
I have to keep on reapplying my tracing to my painting as I've done it too light so I can't see it but it's a learning curve. I'm scared stiff every time I have to airbrush on this painting as my rubbers don't work very well. How long sure I leave the paint before I can rub out easily?? illustration board

unless your tracing is very noticeable then I'd be careful erasing, as you will also remove some of the paint.
By keeping your lines 'barely visible' they will disappear into the paint once you have multiple layers on there and there's also a good chance you'll need them as you go anyway to re-establish highlight or create more shadow

I've never used illustration board but on my Schoelershammer No.4 paper I need to erase with in 4 hours of spraying, after that time damage to the board is imminent when trying to erase or scratch, it is usually easier to work in small sections at a time for this reason.

What did you seal the board with?

Regarding the overseas shipping charges - it’s ruining my days every time I get letter first, notifying of the “extra” payment just to get the parcel delivered to my door!!!

Last time I decided to try some cigars from TNT US, but being aware of those charges,I did ask first if I’ll be forced to pay that additional fee...
    - The seller has advised, that they’ll ship the parcel inside of the others to hide it, so I won’t be charged then...
    - Well - I WAS ! - lol ;)
After receiving the letter with the overseas extra payment, I got in touch to the US seller and I did complain that I won’t pay it, and I don’t wanna have the cigars anymore, because I was advised I won’t be charged ...
    - The seller was honest, he kept his word given and had issued partial refund back to my bank account, to let me pay overseas charges and get the cigars delivered ;)

Sorry for the long story, but I know exactly what the feelings are ;)

James - I’m happy to see your great start !
Lol, I ended up looking around your kitchen at first not the painting!? Hahahaaa ;)
Nice kitchen!!! - so the beginning of your art !!!

I was waiting to see the leopard first, though ;)
The bird is good as well - that will be challenging to get the feathers looking nice ;)

I haven’t seen any of your work, so I don’t know what kind of paintings you prefer James?
Are you after detailed life-like arts, or you aiming more on feelings and free hand strokes, rather than precise detailed scratching?

I have managed to make my working space at the corner of the room upstairs...
    There’s my place ;)
Kitchen sounds like very busy place, I bet you have no other choice?
I wish you to find “your corner” in the house, so you won’t be as much disturbed and could focus on your art ;)

    I’m waiting for updates !!!

I think you have started this off on the right track, slow light and steady. Keep on with this it will come out great.
