Hi to everyone. My name is pete and I'm from NE PA. I started airbrushing about 2 months ago. I fell in love, I'm 43 years old and a concrete mason but I figure that's no excuse not to start learning. I've watched many tutorials and find them to be very informative. Like Masonry I feel there's no better way of learning than having someone show you. So here's my dilemma, I can't seem to find any instructors or classes in the Philadelphia area for airbrushing. If anyone has any information or is willing to teach I'm not here to waste anyone's time. So if you can help me out I would very much appreciate it. I'm ready to compensate anyone for their time if you're interested in teaching. I'm willing to work it out any way possible location wise, very motivated. I hope this isn't out of line for the forum but I feel I wasted enough time already. Please feel free to contact me petecolone@gmail.com I would leave my phone# but don't know if it's allowed. Thanks everyone. Sorry if I was long-winded. It won't happen again I promise.

Hi Petec welcome from the UK. Sounds like you got the AB bug. I sympathise with the feeling of time wasted I was around your age when I started, and was angry with myself for waiting so long lol.

I don't know about teachers in your area, but I know that Florida and Vegas have getaways, coast airbrush has events, and there probably others too. Big names in the AB world tend to go to these and do classes, sometimes lasting a few days. Some artists run there own 3 or 4 day classes too. If you search for them you may be able to find if they have anything going on. Your wallet will take a hit though.

As mentioned above Dru Blair does the classroom in a box series, and our own airbrush tutor has downloadable stuff for sale. You may even be able to set something up using skype with some one.

In the meantime, anything you need to know, any advice etc you can find right here. It may be a bot slower than a class, but these guys know there stuff :)

Welcome to the forum, here you will learn lots and become better and better with practise. It takes a lot of practise but it pays dividends in the end. Hope you find someone to help you locally. Personally I would have a go at the free tutorials from airbrush tutor, you may just surprise yourself. That's basically what some of us had to do before there was internet. Airbrushing was like witchcraft and no one would give any secrets away so it was just do it and see what happens. Good luck on your airbrush journey. We are here to help any time.

    Hi pete,

I know where you are coming from but sometimes life gets in the way, so don't beat yourself up, in ten years time you'll have loads of experience.

I can understand about wanting to get tuition, in the mean time, the internet has made so much info and 'how to's' available, it's worth just playing around and having a go yourself, just to get the feel and control of the airbrush.

I know all forums, (on whatever topic), say we are friendly .....etc., but this forum is really great, people are always ready to help, so don't worry about asking questions or getting help improving.

Just start enjoying the rewarding frustration that is airbrushing !!!

Don't wait to post your masterpiece. Post everything else along the way, exercises, experiments, doodles, practise projects, misadventures and oopses. The friendly constructive crit and advise can save you a whole bunch of time, plus may also help others at a similar stage to you. Even if you're getting it down, it's always good motivation to get the thumbs up, and know you're on the right track. :D
