Does anyone know if transparent paints by createx have the same charastics as their illustration paints. Are they erasable. My Hobby Lobby doesnt sell illustration paints but they do sell transparent paints. This is only for practice..i will get the illustration set online when i feel im good enough

"createx transparent paint" is aimed more at textile/craft work.
if you want to do erasing then Createx 'Wicked Detail' or 'illustration' what you need.
always practise with what you will use in your final product. you wouldn't practise your tennis skills using a baseball.... :D

Yes, I'm with Jackster, learn using the paint you intend to use. Even though its the same brand, they will probably behave differently, so practicing with one, means you may have to adjust all over again when you switch to another.

E'tac efx for normal surfaces and E'tac private stock for hard surfaces, can be reduced with water or reduce air.

Etac Efx is great if you can find it, not good on synthetic papers though to fragile when erasing, I haven't used the private stock so I cant comment on that one. .
If your hobby lobby carry the createx brand then they may be able to get the illustration in for you if you pay them a deposit.

tell them you'd prefer to support local business than go online........ the 'threat' of taking your business elsewhere may sway their decision.

just an extension to the Illustration range, just with different colour mixes, some of which are very useful, like 'old bone white' 'vascular violet' :D

it is fun, and addictive...... if you can learn to mix colours you can get by with just a primary set. but its not as much fun lol

Neither am I...... I get a colour that's close and tweak from there, most of the time I overlay to get effects/colours I'm after. commonly known as @Squishys 'wing it' method lol

I have full sets of both the illustration and blood line and there are some amazing colours in that lot.

Erasing is a somewhat generic term to describe the removal of paint.
    various 'tools' can be used:-
    scalpels / hobby knife
    battery operated erasers
hard erasers - usually the old 'typewriter' style pencil ones
    Steel wool,
green scotchbrite pads - preferably not used from your sink :D
    wire........

    the possibilities are endless.

if you look through the Step by Step section you will likely see mention of 'erasing' or 'scratching' that will demonstrate the technique. Its a really handy thing to learn but be aware that not all paints or surfaces are able to be erased

@haasje dutchairbrush has many brilliant tutorials here, most of which demonstrate the wonders of airbrushing
    here's an example
