Color Shifting

After spending a couple of days with Rob Churchill I came up with this weird creature to practice rusty rivets, greasy wheels and color shifting to obtain depth. I wanted him to look wet like his skin had just been pulled off by the machinery. It generally sucks but I had a lot of fun and learned more about color and lighting. Rob said to paint as much as possible to control my tremors and I think he is right. This thing would make a Zombie pee his pants...:friendly_wink:FB Post.jpg

Nice skull :). A lot of airbrushers see color shifts just as a nuisance, but when you know what they do one can use them as a tool. The blue shift can be used beatifully to make stuff look wet. Ideal for stuff like eyes and lips (when not working monochrome)

Nice piece. Have your tremors decreased since you started airbrushing? :)
Yes it has helped me tremendously. I still fight it at times but the techniques Rob showed me and the tune up he did on my Iwata were awesome. This painting started out as pure violet and using what he taught me I was able to shift in to the final colors. Thanks for asking!!!
