I'm looking at buying a cheap projector for transferring images onto canvas. I have an OHP but looking for something basic. Any suggestions?

connection via ipad or iphone.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Tufty,
I have one of these; http://www.amazon.co.uk/Artograph-A...d=1388088823&sr=8-1&keywords=tracer+projector

It is very basic but it is very cheap. I've only used it once but it did the job transferring my image onto a canvas. You need to print out the image maximum 11cm square. I put the image on a flat piece of mdf then the projector on top and placed it on a table. I put the canvas on a music stand (or easel) to move it up and down and moved the mdf (with projector on) back and forward on the table. Once I had it the size I wanted on the canvas I used the projector lens to sharpen the image and then traced it with a pencil onto the canvas. Room has to be dark.

Thank you for reply melbee, I looked at these back along the reason I didn't go for it was having to print image off. I was looking at the 3m mp projectors but unsure of the quality of the image so hoping someone could recommend one. I'm hoping to just find reference on tablet plug it in and trace! Probabably not that easy. Lol

Yeah I thought you probably meant a digital projector but I thought I'd mention the Tracer just in case. I've never used a digital one and the cheap ones seem to not give a good image otherwise I'd be tempted myself. Good luck, I hope you find a good one :)

I have the 3m mp225a, it's got an apple specific connector. It's a bit of a pain for apple anyway. The projector works fine with a decent output device. I ended up getting a standard av cable for it and used my video camera to output a vid of the pic I needed.
Apple's photo app only outputs in the slideshow mode which only allows a max 20 sec per pic. At this time I had not found an app that works better with my phone or iPad.

Thats exactly the reason for this post. Thanks for that wmlepage. That has helped a lot. Apple tie a lot of things up with apps!
