DIY AB Trigger Pad

Vladimir

Detail Decepticon!
I find taller triggers to be better for higher spraying control. The pads give almost none of the finger fatigue what means a lot for me, as I usually have pain in my finger when painting all day long.
Here's ''step by step" making process. A few words should be added. Material is urethane and plastic. Glue is 2K epoxy.
Feel free to ask.

Nice work, Vladimir.
It's good to know that there are fairly simple solutions to what seem like difficult problems.
I was having similar pains until I did like you have and extended the trigger head.
Yours are much nicer though!

You're right splasha!:) Solutions are usually so simple that it's impossible to beleive!:)
I was really glad to feel NO pain im my finger when ABing for days! It was actually a surprise for me:)
BTW my first attempts in pad making were lower pads. They provide work with no finger pain but not as good in spray control as taller ones.

Thanks @Vladimir but I've actually changed from a tall trigger and now want them as short as possible. It's just the way I hold the gun now.

What is about the finger pain now with a low trigger after working for days? Could you post a photo of the way you hold your AB? It's interested to know why your way of holding is better then taller trigger.

@Vladimir. Not to hi-jack your thread but this is how I hold my guns now.

Andre, it's not my thread!:) I'm just a topic starter.

And I'd like to ask everyone who have already done the trigger extensions etc. to post the results here. And also to show us the finger position on the trigger and give some explanations why this type of pad and the finger position are convenient.
Andre would you mind to be the first to post a photo with your finger on the trigger but not only near it?:) And thanx for the previous photo!
splasha could you show us your results with your trigger extension experiments?

Ha Ha @Vladimir. I actually have built up my trigger for this grip. I used Sugru.

Before this I used hot glue. Many threads here about it. There is even a video on YouTube.

Thanx Andre!:)
So you've put some Sugru to reduce pain which bare metal of the trigger causes. Am I right?
In your way of holding the AB hot glue extention was inconvenient for you because of the hight as I undestand.

I prefer a short trigger, use it just as it is and never get any finger pain. But maybe because my hands are smaller? The extensions you made look good though Vladimir.

I'm a little jelous you have no figer pain!:) I had it every time after ABing for a day long, not saying if more:) But after the pads were done there was no pain. Also there was raising control over spraying.
Finger pain was because of my way of holding the AB or my long fingers, that's a question:) But one thing I'm sure of the pain caused by bare metal of the trigger which I pressed much.
Here's the way I hold the AB. First two - most of the time, third - rare position.

Here's what I've done to my Olympos:)
The problem is I've got not small fingers and AB cup stands on my finger way so it's very inconvenient to draw. The solution is damned easy! It's to have trigger pad higher than the cup;)
Here's what we have:

The next trigger pad will be for CM-SB. Works are under way;)

after my stroke I found out I lost the fine movement in my trigger finger and Ashley send me this trigger pad to see if it would help

this one was way to high for me and I was not able to work with it so he send me an other one that raised the trigger with just 2 mm

this one was just perfect for me and I had the control back , but I really didnt like the fact I had to pull the trigger further back than I was used to so when Iwata came with the v2 version with the slightly higher and wider trigger I went for that airbrush .
I admit I have real small hands and over the past 3 years trained my finger to get the fine movement back and I love the tiny movements I need to control the trigger

Ronald I understand you completely. The hight of the pad depends on person who uses it. All the trigger pads I've done are different hight so some of them work better then other. I have not decided yet what hight is mine:) Practice will show. But I alredy know what hight is too low and what's too high. So I have to find something in between:)

indeed a trigger pad can help to gain more trigger control , but it all depends on the users hand and trigger finger ;) I never needed one before my stroke and now I am happy I can work with the standard v2 trigger without any problems
