For the micron v1 users

lollollol Very funny I like that.

That part no 13 33€

Give me a link to where you seen it for £6 please and I'll order it now:thumbsup:

It seems I clicked the part 14 under it, but I just clicked it again with my glasses on:eek: I've had a look through all of the parts now and if you bought half of the parts that are on the list you would be short of enough money to buy the new gold pimped model Micron, the prices of these parts are downright ridiculous and could only be described as theft, this would mean that the poor bastards who put these brushes together in the factory and then put them into a fancy box to make it look more inviting are probably paying Iwata about $600 just for the privilege of building them:confused:

There is absolutely no way in the whole of this world that anyone at all could ever justify the cost of these parts, from what I've seen so far I'm already thinking of switching brands, for the money I see being asked everywhere for these parts I could buy two infinities and pay some mad scientist a couple of hundred bucks to tamper enough with them that they would perform the same and I would have enough left over to buy a new car:eek:

Whilst I am happy to pay what it takes to get the best, I am certainly not ever going to pay that for what is simply a piece brass with ridges cut into it that someone couldn't be bothered to machine round and decided to charge more for it, a bit like the sushi restaurants who charge you more not to cook your food:confused: I could make this myself with my dremel tool and probably make more than 100 for the same price.

It would actually be cheaper just to buy an H&S evolution and just throw it away and buy a new one every time you bust a nozzle.

Suddenly that cramp I mentioned sounds like fun, so much fun in fact that I am sitting on my hands right now trying to bring it on, Just don't ask me how I'm typing, we have ladies here:thumbsup:

We have females...ladies might be a stretch Lol!

I just thought I would try to be a gentleman after that rather abrupt and aggressive vent, but if it makes you feel any better, being a gentleman is for me also a bit of a stretch, in fact it actually hurt:confused::confused::confused:

When I checked the price I realised you had looked at no 14, expensive for a lot of parts especially for a hobbyist and not a pro. But as you say if you want the best you have to pay. You never know you might get a discount for anything you buy at the time of your course:thumbsup:
You know there's no way you'll buy a harder again, but if you want I'll swap you an Al plus for some parts:whistling:

o_O Wow how fast can a topic derail, and here I was thinking this was a rather "safe" subject. Just shows how naive I till am... by now I should know better :p

Absolutely nothing is safe on this forum, you may want to tattoo that into the palm of your hand with one of your old bent needles in case you should forget (again) lol

Did I mention that my micron and HP-BH triggers (sorry I meant main levers) are interchangeable?

I guess it is a matter of preference, taller would allow more control and shorter would be more responsive. So in essence you are trading one for the other,

Now me I am short and quick... I consider this not a detriment because as I tell my wife.. "its a race, not my fault you dont know how to win".

The taller trigger and more control is part of why I use my Evolution so much. There is more of a gradation with the taller trigger. Then again with a shorter with a quick response can be controlled with the "knuckle dragger" technique. I prefer one for some techniques and one for others.

Nice touch keeping the thread de-railed. :)

yes... I have been told that.

I did drop a k33 needle a main lever and a soft spring in the basket plus 4 paintpal sized clayboards.. Came to 85 pounds so maybe a birthday pressie at the end of the month.

although my skill level is in no way good enough to warrant a new brush.....it sure seems that i really want one. lol....what is really the difference?? the paint flow at trigger pull?? (response) im using an HPC+ now w/ .2 noz....after looking over drawings the pivot point of trigger/MAIN LEVER doesnt change/ however changing length (adding leverage) would do? less pull for paint flow, comfort, as stated above this must make a difference.. the iwata parts list shows 3 Main Levers for the hp 2 of these are $15 and one is $30 (hpbc+) the angle for the air valve on the hpbc+ differs from the hpc does this make it twice as long to warrant the X2 cost...lol.....i bet for $10 i could take my lever to the local jeweler and have him/her exxxxtend my main lever lol.. thanks for the brain tease this morning @haasje dutchairbrush

I used an epoxy putty called "kneadatite" (sometimes more colloquially known as "Green Stuff"), which hardens to a hard rubber-like consistency to sculpt a trigger pad extension for my HP-CS. There's a two part silicone putty called "Sugru" which could be used in the same way, but I didn't have any on hand.

I shrink wrapped the whole AB using kitchen plastic wrap and a heat gun, then sculpted the trigger in place, allowing me to feel/test the ergonomics as I was going. When I got a shape I liked, I smoothed it w/water and imprinted grooves with a scalpel (diagonal for grip, and one axial to ensure alignment when reattaching it later). Let it cure overnight, then popped it off the next day, unwrapped the brush, and glued the button in place with silicone seal. The layer cake appearance is just because my first iteration wasn't tall enough, so I popped it off again and added more putty to the underside to bump it up, but didn't get the smoothing perfectly flush.

It's custom made for my grip, doesn't look gunky like hot glue (I wasn't too worried about appearances for this one, but this method allows you to get as pretty as you want), and durable enough to last forever. But if I ever need to sell the brush, or replace the trigger, or just redesign a new pad, I can still peel it off easily.

Well I've just took delivery of my spare parts, needle, nozzle and v2 main lever, although I had the extra height anyway from previous mod, this square main lever feels a lot more positive with my finger along with what seems a much smoother rocking motion being possible. I have also modded my crown cap as I didn't like the original but also didn't feel that comfortable with it off always being weary of hitting the tip.
