Airbrush service

Well now im gutted, at 10psi even with a badly damaged nozzle and a kinked needle the Neo sprayed well, which tells me that the compressor is ok, i going to get a tanked one but its not a necessity.

Keep your cool Matty, at least we're making some progress now, strip your micron down at the front completely, as well as the nozzle and needle, carefully check the nozzle cap inside and make sure there is no debris in space between the cap and nozzle, also check the air passages as Squishy said, there is definitely dirt in there somewhere you just have find it, it might even be wise to check the air valve for dirt, these can also get clogged with grime or water from your compressor, if you have water traps what do they look like, is there evidence of anything black?

Not good news that, strip the micron completely down, not taking the actual nozzle of and soak it in airbrush cleaner overnight, I've done it with mine,o rings removed, and was surprised at how much paint was in the solution.

I had the airbrush standing upright and the level of the cleaner was just above where my cup attaches, worked around a fine brush as @ad fez showed me and I haven't had much trouble since.

I've got to Learn to type quicker, Malky beat me to it again.

@matty171 no relevance but if it's any consolation at all I spent a full ten hours today just returning my computer back to windows 8 from ten, that was the only way to get my A3 printer to work, all that time should have been spent on my next painting which is a commission :confused::confused:

Do it at your mate just keep your cool, you'll get it sorted,;from what you describe I'm sure you dirty water in a airways, just clean them out with a stretched out paper clip or one of those tiny dental bottle washer brushes, your brush head is being starved of air.

been there LOL,
best investment I ever made was a cheapo 60x LED jewellers magnifier from fleabay, it was less than $5 so I bought two, one for the shed, one for the house. but what you see when you look through it is as scary as any of Squishys clown nightmares !

Yea i was looking at every thing with mine lol, im a big child

I also got one of those off ebay for like $5 and thought the 60x will not be enough. I was surprised at how much you can see with it and how much is wrong with your gun without you even knowing it.

Yea you think your needle and nozzle are in perfect condition until you look thro them

just one more thing I just remembered , did you put some sealant on the threads off the nozzle when you replaced it ? if not this can cause the problem. I am not saying it is indeed the problem but it can be it .
I had it ones when I had to replace a worn out nozzle: the airbrush acted up from the moment I tried to work with it : not spraying right even bubbles in the cup like I had a blocked nozzle while it was brand new so I was thinking I had a bad nozzle straight out the pack till I saw my sealant standing where I put it so I would remember to use it . I removed the nozzle added a tiny bit of sealant and all was perfect again .
I replaced the nozzle on my stock micron with the K33 needle just the other week but I forgot to get me some new sealant and took my chances and it works perfect with out it
