Airbrush service

@Ronald art and @Boneman i have the nozzle tightened by a spanner and this problem was happening before i got this nozzle, it has been getting worse over the last while, i sat and thought about it last night and over the last load of months its been gradually worse and i have went thro 3 nozzles over that time, altho you could be right, i dont know [emoji53]

So update time:
Had nozzle soaking over night an gave it a clean again this morning, tested again even with just water and still no luck, so i stripped the brush down as much was humanly possible, took everything apart, head body and even took apart the air valve and cleaned all parts with the wee dental brush things, cleaned all around the head etc etc etc. i cleaned every part there is even took out the needle packing seal and cleaned it, gun is spotless.

Now there did seem to be some very small particles in the moisture trap when i had a look and when i first turned on the compressor this morning i was getting some water spitting out for a couple of seconds, drained the water trap on the compressor. But in saying that my Neo is working with no problems even down at 10psi. Also tried micron with no moisture trap and took of my quick connect fixtures to see if they were causing problems but still the same.

I am absolutely stumped, and i know that some would advise to clean the gun again but trust me i have gotten in to holes i never even thought of cleaning before.
Anyone else got a any ideas

Something has to be blocking paint flow. Have you tried a different paint cup? You have an SB right? Maybe the channel in the cup is clogged, not allowing the head to pull paint.

Do you have an external quick release mac between the hose and the brush? we had an incident a while back where the the aperture in the hose was interfering with the air being fed to the brush, also it could be that the rubber ring seal in the hose or in your grip type water trap is either disintegrations or is would so tight that it is suffocation your poor micron, try different hoses if you have others and these these items, I am now pretty sure that oxygen starvation is your problem, so take your hand off of your face after you cough, lol

Seriously check that air is getting where it should through all of your connections, a clean brush and a non-faulty compressor is a good indication that the problem is somewhere in between and in between we find hoses and rubbers and all kinds of excremente that could be the problem, even if you you uses all the same parts on your Neo your neo has a different air valve/pin than your micron, is this guy clever or what?

Alrite mate
I recently bought a external mac and with a quick disconnect and also a separate quick disconnect, ive also recently just bought a new moisture trap an a three way splitter, i have tried te brush without them all, i went back to basics with just an airhose straight onto the brush, infact i tried both of my hoses but still no luck, im def getting air through the brush but even just water wont go thro unless its turned up.

In light of all of this I think you are flogging a dead horse, it seems now that best course of action is indeed to send it for a service, the question where to send it, I don't if there is actually anyone at all in Ireland that services them, but I do know that Lion repairs them, why not contact him and ask what possibilities are and if you need to send it to him I'll be more than happy to help you our if you get stuck, either way, I think you have done all you can and shouldn't proceed any further in case you make the problem worse or even un-fixable, we can play guessing games all week long but it needs tending to now by a pro, it's way too dear a brush to be taking any more chances with.

So have a little scout around to see what you can find locally and/or contact Lion and if you need any help at all you know where I am.

I would also look into those particles you mentioned, I have had the Neo myself so I think there is a good chance that it is not bothered by these particles because it has a larger head assembly as well as larger airways leading to the head, so your compressor could well be blowing out fine debris along with the air.

No worries Matty, whatever it is I'm confident Lion will get to the bottom of it, but definitely have a look at your compressor in the meantime, I have a feeling there is something coming out of that that shouldn't be:) I have the same type of compressor but with a small tank, I think paid around €70 for it and it has served me well for the last nearly three years, I hav eonly ever done small paintings with but when you do have a tank a lot what it produces stays in the tank thanks to it condensing before it reaches the hose, without the tank everything goes directly into your, with your skills now I think you owe it to yourself to have better more reliable compressor, I think you are long past the stage where failure could be any kind of an option other than through faulty gear of course, lol

Mate i have lined up my new compressor already as the one i have served me well but with doing tshirts and stuff i just dont think it can handle it, its the same inly with a tank, the sake one you use, plus ill get two excrementty brushes with it and a new hose, all for around 50/60 quid if i remember. Ill just need to hold out and see whats happening with this other mofo, i have mailed Lion with a link to this thread, see what he thinks.
Theres days go by when i sit and wonder why i put myself thro this sh1t lol then i remember its cause i love it [emoji53]

Thanks again mate you've probably stopped the murder of a micron lol

You can't murder a Micron, you would get hung drawn and sent to @Squishy 's gutter, you can wait for those two shiity brushes and keep them as sacrificial victims for when you have one of those days (or weeks even) lol

lol ive had to stay in worse places than that [emoji53]

One other question....is the nozzle sealed like w teflon...i use liquid frisket on the threads with a toothpick careful not to get any inside nozzle just the last few threads...

The nozzle shouldn't need anything at all to seal it, the Micron parts are as precise as it can possibly ever get and are simply screwed in finger tight and in the case of the nozzle the spanner is really only there to get it off if it becomes tight, I generally will not put anything into a brush that wasn't there before, with the exception of a little lubrication and of course some paint, I have both the Micron and HP-BH+ and have never applied any kind of sealer to them, occasionally I get bubbles either in the cup or from the back of the nozzle cap, when that happens I simply take off the parts and replace them, and/or a little clean if needed, but definitely no teflon, no beeswax and no nothing else, if it wasn't there when you bought it, it wasn't mean to be there;)

I have been chatting to Lion in the background and hes as baffled as the rest of us [emoji53]

Let's hope your brush gets a nice holiday and doesn't cost a lot to fix, on the plus side it will come back with gummie Bears for you.

Well if it does have a holiday don't send it to Amsterdam or it will come back bow legged, pie eyed and skint, for the first week back at home it won't even know where it iso_O:thumbsdown::)
