Hi all!

My names JD, Im an artist from New Zealand that does mainly portrait and wildlife work in colour pencil and graphite. I am about 25 hours into my new airbrush addiction lol Started airbrushing as most of my work is A4/A3 size and I am wanting to open up larger scale work that would take faaar too long with colour pencil, so airbrushing it is.

Started out using a Paasche V but quickly bought a Badger Krome which I love (though only have one other AB to compare with).

Currently using Golden High Flow acrylics on canvas and paper

Loving it all so far. Great to be part of this forum

Cheers!

Hi from Texas! I was a pencil sketch artist & picked up an airbrush about 4 months ago. I am amazed at how rewarding it is. I can accomplish what would have taken me days in a couple hours. Post some pics!

Thanks all

Thats great to hear J000seph, though Im thinking it will take a long time before I have the same control as my pencils :) But learning is the fun part!

Ooooh, another fellow kiwi - Hi @JDart I use a lot of golden high flow as well. What part of this skinny country are you in? oh and welcome from New Zealand!

Thanks a lot. Currently living in Auckland, soon to be Mangawhai, how about yourself? Glad to hear you use Golden high flow, I may be doing something right :)

Welcome to our little madhouse, remember you can still use the pencils along with the airbrush too

Ah yes thanks, already started experimenting with this :)

Out west in Massey... about to move to Henderson... When do you move and what part of the city are you in...?

Thanks for the welcomes. Will post some art when I know where and how to post, and when I finish something decent :)

Cool, I'll get our move over and touch base soon.

Welcome from the UK. Sounds like you caught the AB bug already. We only have good eggs here, so don't be shy about showing what you've learnt so far, you may get some advice that could literally save weeks of experiments, or you could get a pat on the back to show you're on the right track which is always nice. With your pencil experience, when you've got the brush working sweetly and your stroke technique down, you should be well away.
