not a strictly airbrush question

ive got a Sparmax Arism Viz compressor. i purchased a Bergen mini HVLP gun and am not sure if the combination will work. any help would be appreciated. very little information online

you can physically hook it up, but the Sparmax has nowhere near the airflow output required to operate a spray gun. The HVLP gun should have a recommend cfm minimum someplace in it's literature. It may be around 5cfm or something like that, while the Sparmax optimistically puts out a max of around .6cfm.

ahhh thats spot on mate just read the technical info in manuals now i understand.. ill give it a try.. thanks for the response

And man, for a mini gun that thing is an outright air hog....8cfm.
You'd need a 20 gallon compressor to run it intermittently.
Ill hunt for a UK version of the one super cheapie mini gun I like if you're interested.....still uses 3.4 so not a prayer on that sparmax but little enough to run on some small compressors.

@Robbyrockett2 ive just found that its a feckin 8cfm not a sniff its gonna work on the arism viz.. yes mate if you can find something i can use with the Sparmax that would be super appreciated fella.. when i ran it dry and squeezed the gun literally the air blew out and prressure dropped to zero in a blink

You're Sparmax compressor was created specially for airbrush use so you are at risk of blowing it out with any type if spray gun, have look on Amazon or eBay for cheap silent compressor to use for yiur spray fun, no point in burning a perfectly good airbrush compressor.

I have an Orazio silent compressor with 9 litre tank I got off Amazon for £97, the one I have is out of stock at this time but there are others, go have a quick look see, it's your safest bet.

@Malky thats a soound bit of advice.. i defo dont want to blow my sparmax its a great airbrush compressor,,, gutted because some years ago a mate donated a massive compressor, which is probably what i need now haha.. silly me left it at my last accomodation in the outshed,,, be a big laugh if its still there because i llost the kewy for the shed... TBC lets chase my old landlord

Yes, as far as I know there isn't a gun available that would have a prayer of working on the sparmax compressor....not even a fan airbrush . There are several minis that could work at least for small areas off of the compressor that malky mentioned.
For the gun you have however , yes it would take a pretty large compressor.
I was just saying theres one cheapo I could recommend for use on small compressors.
Not tiny micro compressors though.
