(Yes, the country Turkey)

My name's Onur (Honour) and I'm into cosplay prop making (as a hobby) and have been thinking of better/faster ways to paint, then I saw the airbrush technique and fell in love with it!..

My sister saw me watching vids so now she wants to dabble in textile painting as well (bags-shoes), maybe some hard surface painting (way) later on, like walls or a jet ski.

I've been reading like crazy to decide on the materials but am ultimately in need of some advice, so I decided to create an account.

See ya in the forums.

Cool name! Welcome from New Zealand! Turkey is a special nation to ours.

What sort of gear do you use?

Thank you for the great welcome fellas. Very multinational gathering here.

I'm just gathering supplies at the moment, gonna wait for my parcel to arrive from the states, that'll take a while (25 days). But what I'll be using basically is:
Iwata HP-CS
Sparmax .5mm DH-125

I'll be getting both Createx and Wicked for different surfaces, I can see myself running out of both shortly due to inexperience and the need to practice. Will update my signature area as parcels arrive so I may get better advice from you all...

Oh, one question. Do you recommend the "Ultimate Airbrush Control" tutorial? Seems like the price was bumped up quite a lot.

There is a learning curve with the Createx paint. I'm not sure what you're getting when you say "Createx and Wicked"
Createx is the brand, 'Wicked' is one of the series that they do. so i'm not 100% sure which paint you have when you say "createx' but i suspect you have bought 'createx airbrush paint' which is fine, but its designed for textiles and about 50psi.

How long your paint will last will depend on how much reducer you use with it. Most here tend to use a lot of reducer to paint ratio and it does make your paint last a lot longer.

Ultimate airbrush control has been completed by many, @markjthomson is one of them from memory so i'll leave it to him to review it and he can probably advise if the cost has risen.

I wouldn't say it's gone up much at all. It is well worth the $167 Au. Plenty to learn and practice off that one.

My bad. I thought that was USD, not Aussie. Meanwhile, I bought Power's Lvl 1 DVD set, I'll prob buy Ultimate Airb Control on top of that cause I'm a sucker for tutorials LOL.

Welcome home you and your sister (she can join too) are most welcomed here , The Powers dvd series one is a great set to learn from.
Being you say you are into cosplay I would suggest more in the line of a bottom feed to make switching colors easier, Being I have painted a few cosplay items for my daughter and her friends over the years sometime my gravity feed just was not the right tool for the job. But I love my gravity feed :D and I even picked up another side feed to give that style of airbrush another go.
Main thing is to practice those dots dagger strokes(rat tail as some call them) and fades. build that muscle memory up and then airbrushing will get fun:D

Welcome to the forum, hope your stay with us is full of info and learning, plus we like to have some fun too.

Yes, besides the Iwata HP-CS, I also bought a side feed that accepts bottles as well so I could experiment with those too. I actually bought the gravity feed because the general air in the forum felt like everyone (just like you) love gravity feed, so I gotta see it for myself! :)

That is the only way to know what fits you is trying all 3 styles of airbrush :D
