Ciao from Italy

Lucio

Double Actioner
Hi Folks! I'm Lucio from Italy, since I started working with some art-therapists, I've been envolved in the magic of paintings and now I want some of that beauty in my life!

I'm a very beginner, I don't even dare to write a line in this forum, but my eyes are wide opened.

At moment i've started with an Iwata Eclipse CS together with a FD-186A compressor, a really cheap one...
I'm doing a lot of lines, dots, belndings and the eye tutorial...

working and training every day.

thank you for beeing here!

Hi guys and thank you for welcoming!

Actually, I started with a super cheap AB from Amazon (30 €, compressor included...) and after a week I realized that I should be really good to achive a proper usage with that trash...so I understood that a beginner must start with a better gear and I bought an average Iwata and I'm happy with it...

I think that the cleaning routine is a very tedious stuff, but it helps prevent my usually overdoing ,since I wouldn't do it twice a day my training average time isn't longer than an hour per day.

Currently, my major problem is in the consistency of blending, I do a lot of darker dots during the transition and I believe that it's becouse I usually forget the "duality of the trigger" and my index remains still on it, just like spraying with a can... I should keep that in mind!

and I can't find another subject after that eye, everything I find seems too hard to me...would do you share some intermediate step if you remember youselves at that time?

I've heard of a lot of heartache when people purchase no name airbrushes... Some are hit, but mostly miss. It was a good move to get a decent airbrush.
As for a new subject matter... Skulls are also great to practice. Just print out a skull from your computer and cut out a template with it ( I have one template I constantly reuse). That way you'll spend more time painting then drawing skulls.

Thank You Ricky Spanish ( I've just realize who you nick name is referred to :) )

I spotted a lot of skull tutorials on youtube but I'm not a great fan of "dark" subjects, such as demons, skulls etc.. I prefer something that could be seen by kids without scaring them, and neither me !
that's why I'm in lack of subjects...I'll improve my skills so I'll be able to use more stuff

Nice... It was one of my favourite episodes lol
Geometric shapes are good to practice if skulls aren't your thing ( spheres, cubes, ovals etc.). Plus I like to dabble with the odd flower as well.

Hey Lucio, welcome to the forum and greetings from your neighboor (me :) -Greece). A lots of very interesting and informative stuff to read here and they'll definetely help!

Hi from the UK. Welcome aboard. You have made a great choice of airbrush! It's good to learn on, but is capable of so much once you get to know it, and can produce the finest quality detail, so you won't grow out of it. A good investment.

Clean up will get easier. Once you have your paint/reduction and air pressure fine tuned it really helps avoid blockages and build up in your nozzle etc. Which paints are you using, someone may have tips?

For something to practice so that you don't get bored with dots and lines, try a space scene. They are pretty simple but a great exercise in smooth fading and blending colours. Plus you can add comets or even space craft to practice your lines, and splatters and dots for stars.

oh guys you're full of positive energy!!!

Hi neighbour! One of best desire of mine is to live a wild life in a beautiful uninhabited Greek island...

Squishy and Ricky your approval is important to me!

the space scene will be perfect I'm going to search for it right now!

thank you a lot!!

Welcome aboard Lucio! Nice to have you here. Sounds like you’re off to a great start with your choice of equipment and starting a tutorial.
Lots of folks here have bought Colouring Books to practice as beginners. These are great as the already have the line drawings done and there’s a huge range of subjects, Marvel Characters, Cars etc. That might be a place you could look at trying too.

Welcome to the forum from China! Indeed, this forum is a great amplifier for getting started with airbrushing and improving as you go... it helped me a lot in my early days (which was only 8 months ago) and also today. Practicing will need to be done by yourself, though.:)

Welcome aboard Lucio,
You wont regret the Eclipse CS airbrush, you'll still be using it in 10 years time (although by then you'll likely have many more brushes too)

As long as you remember to drain the tank on your compressor it should do you fine for awhile.

we are here to help if you need it, all you need to do is ask :) we like helping newcomers on there first bumpy steps, we remember how intimidated we were with all the awesome artworks seen here, but fear not, we all started in the same place you are now :D

You've found the airbrush tutor site and the free downloads on there like the eye / cameron / the leopard are all there for beginners, I can imagine you looked at Cameron and the leopard and went 'NO WAY I can do that' but try, you'll be surprised ! the videos are also there to help you along but they are just basic dagger strokes arranged in a certain way to make a pretty looking picture

You can do it

Hi SiRoxx, Franc Kaiser and JackEb
thank you for your welcome and for your encouragements

I belive that this forum has a really good spirit...because newbies feel protected so can evolve easily and, first of all, can keep spraying Humanity.

JackEb thanks for the advice about draining the tank, I thought I was smart for keeping the pressure inside ready for the next session...

I tryed the space scene tutorial and it was quite good before I screwed it up with casual colors....
I've ordered a Wicked paints set, plus some more createx opaque black and opaque white to mix with the relative transparent base. I did't find any transparent base for the wicked paints in my supplier's catalogue, but I felt lucky to have the High performance Reducer included in the set!

Now I will bump on the leopard as JackEb suggests

see you guys!!

Welcome to the forum Lucio, you are in the right place to learn, you just have to put the practise in and it will come to you.
