My name is Josh and Im new to airbrushing. I just recently got back into model's mainly ww2 tanks. I bought a harbor freight AB kit and it is absolutely horrible. I was doin research and found this site and have been lurking for a while and decided to finally join. Im looking at ordering a Iwata either a revolution cr or an eclipse hp-cs . for compressor i need something quite as i live in an apartment ,im lookin at a california compressor or similar. sorry for the marathon text....

Hi Josh,
Marathon text !! lol, I dont think so, more like short and sweet :)

I'd suggest the Eclipse HP-cs, great all round work horse. True 'quiet' compressors dont come cheap so be prepared for a hit to your wallet, although if you are only doing models then one of the 'studio' type compressors WITH A TANK will probably do what you want.
out of curiosity which 'Kit' did you get, you may be able to retain some things and throw the rest at a neighbor you arent fond of lol

Where do you call home Josh ?

sorry for the delay , im from evansville IN. i was lookin at one of the california compressors or something like this Hitachi EC28M, @Robbyrockett2 yea the needle for scraping is bought the only good thing in it. it makes a fine line of about 3 inches lol

nice work with a crap setup. I hate the fact i cant adjust pressure and i want to do camo on the tanks but it wont do fine line , there is no control. how do you like that senco comp , is it loud?
It's my workhorse for airbrushing.
It's a bit louder than the HF, but not too hard to make a better silencer for.
100 percent duty cycle is a big plus. I couldn't use it in a room while the family sleeps though like I can the HF. Daytime probably fine. Good thing is you can snag it at home depot and try it out.
Pretty easy to take back if need be.

yea i read where you said the 100% duty cycle which is sweet. i may scoop it up and make a better silencer and if thats not good enough build a box with some fans and insulation to contain noise yet keep it cool. how did u find out the duty cycle detail , i would like to know what other comp's are rated at. TIA

Most of the time you can find the rating somewhere online. Most small compressors , almost all I know of are 50 percent.
This one I had to contact senco as it's not even in the manual or anywhere on the compressor or anything.

Welcome Josh. If you can, I would suggest going for the Eclipse over the Revolution. They’re close in price, but night and day in performance.
