Easy build mini spray booth, maybe handy for some.

Just came across this on YouTube, could be very handy for modelers and could probably be made to any size desired, I'm seriously considering this since I'm coughing my lungs up at the minute, Adding a tumble dryer exhaust hose would get the extracted dust/fumes to a window no problem.

links to all the necessary gear is in his description, but the link to box fan comes up the first glue he used, but I've been gooling and found plenty of suitable fans under $50, if I make another one slightly bigger with a bigger fan I can keep it in my downstairs shed and easily spray my gessoed panels there:)

Cool i think it def need to be vented and if its solvent paint it may need a metal fan or the paint may melt the fan over time??? Just thinking out loud :)
Thanks for posting

I never use anything other than water based or i would die before the fan did, but as long as the (correct) 3m filter is used in front of the fan, the fan won't be in any danger, I'm looking into all the bits I need to make them, but the board he used for the main carcass is exactly the same stuff I use for my gessoed boards and costs almost nothing, other than the fan and filter I have everything else including the glue and stuff to make the hinges, I do some sewing and upholstery for fun and i have some stuff that's used to make water proof clothing which was intending to make a bag for my home made lap steel with but decided on a hard case instead, so that will get used up:thumbsup:

Been looking at making a booth or extractor for ages. Built a spray frame like air Venturi make for a fraction of the cost and have it running on a 12v adapted connected to a car radiator fan on the back. Will have to dig it out from dads garage and build a booth that folds up.

I actually don't know mate I never got around to building one but if you to shops that sell filters for cooker extractors you will usually have a choice if filters and a quick read at the packaging will tell what each filter can handle, although you'll be looking for something carbon based.

No the one on YouTube did

I'm not sure what you mean here but filters do exactly the same thing no matter what appliances they are in, if you go to any shop that sells filters and tell them what you need it for they will advise you on which is best for your needs, even an auto body shop would advise you, when you buy filters you often need to cut them to the size you need, you'll get a single mat that might give you 4 or 5 filters in total, if your fan has a designated space for the filter it might specify the size and type you need.

It is a fold down one that's all
