Createx 22 Paint Set - Good Deal/Paints?

Hey team,

Is this a good deal? https://smile.amazon.com/Createx-Colors-Airbrush-Paint-Cleaner-x/dp/B0115U439C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1550159309&sr=8-1&keywords=createx+colors+airbrush+paint+-+22+colors+and+cleaner+-+2+oz

I know I can get the primary colors and mix and match, but I'd like to go this route while I learn for now. I know I've seen some people posting about craft stores so I'll check that out too, just curious on this set.

Cheers!
Hvstle

I'm not too sure, but just to throw you another idea, have you tried FW inks by Daler Rowney, they're Acrylic but apparently permanent when dry. Might be worth a try too?

I haven't even taken my stuff out of boxes yet. Lol. I have not even heard of this guy. I'll check em out. TY!

as Jordo stated
Createx airbrush colors are aimed at textile/hobby work..... for large nozzle sizes ( .5) and higher PSI,
A lot here bought the 'airbrush colors' thinking they were doing the right thing. (we quickly realised our mistake, but wasted $$ ! )

If you can get createx wicked / wicked detail / illustration range from hobby lobby at the discounts you mentioned then thats what I'd be doing if you are keen on Createx.

There are quite a few other brands around but the createx seems to be the easiest to source, but also has a steep learning curve.

If you do go with createx then make sure you get a large bottle of the 4012 reducer and the 4008 restorer (for deep cleaning your brush, its reusable so a 4oz bottle will last for ages)

All great info, thank you Jack. What paints do you go for? I think I am going to snag these Wicked if my bros wife will get them for me. He is coming to my town this weekend so it's all very convenient timing.

I already have some thinner and cleaner so I think I am good there.

and 40 off
and 15 off on top of 40
that would be 54.9 right?

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh, this hurt so much

I use mostly Createx Illustration but I do have E’tac which I also like bery much and I’ve just bough some Trident that i’d Planning on trying some time this year

Just make sure you use the right reducer/thinner for the paint you are using. Using water or other reducer/thinner with Createx can cause clotting and frustration.
