Improving The Airbrush...

I must say I love the clean look of that smaller seal nut and tightening from the out side would suite me just fine although with the CM SB I can see what I am doing trough the window

You know Ronald, it's a matter of preference. Some people would find adjusting from side window to be convenient (I'm not sure if you talking about it).
But I think you've seen how those nuts adjusted from the side window start to look over the time;)
I thought about how the engineers' thoughts were developing on using the nut with the teflon seal... Maybe they just installed the teflon in older version of the nut. First Iwata microns came with rubber O-ring, as I know. I never had V0 micron. But tightening and adjusting soft seals is another story, compared to teflon. Anyway, my point of view is no matter what kind of seal is being adjusted either teflon or soft one, nut with one groove is much better for adjusting. Though, in this case it should be the shape I did. Then making back side long doesn't make sense, as one groove does not allow adjusting from the side window. And then making that big window is not necessary as a result of changing the nut. But who will do that?:)
I would even manufacture side feed airbrushes for right and left handed users with only one window pointed to the user's eyes. Where user lays the finger, there should be no window for the convenience of long time freehand work. I find the window very inconvenient thing to hold the airbrush. And that window should be smaller, as there's no reason for tightening the nut, one only needs that window for the control of the paint leak. The size of the side window should be a bit bigger than old T&C and Olympos microns have and smaller that Iwata's micron.
I've got some concepts in my mind on the AB body shape.

since I have bought that special nut screw driver I insert it from the back and watch trough the window if I insert it right , and before I had the screwdriver I did indeed adjusted it from the side trough the window .
the window as such has never bothered me when I hold the airbrush my fingers dont touch it but I have small hands

Could you take some pictures how your nut looks after tightening from side window, also your special screw driver?

I remember how @crewchief227 's nut looked:) BTW, could you post that photo here, if you haven't thrown it away?

I have different situation with long fingers. For this reason Olympos micron window suits me much better. If there was no window at the finger's side, it would be great.

Developed new sealing nut for new soft O-rings. Works great.
Looks not the same as stock one for some reasons, thought it could be manufactured having exactly the same shape.
One reason is I don't like stock nuts, as it's not possible to see what's been dialed, one can only trust the feel of the needle movement. It's for the reason stock nut has 3 "rays" design. Mine has only one and its much better to see what I dial each time. It's especially important for soft seal where your needle is sealed at the moment the O-ring just touches the AB body inside, what's not possible to do with the stock look, you need to see at what position O-ring touches the body for further tightening/loosing the seal. Generally, it's all about better control of the seal.
Another thing is tightening the nut from outside the body (from the window) works not for better centering the nut inside the body, that affects the nozzle centering also.
This one gives better control of paint leak, if one would appear.

The thing looks like that installed in the tool.

That looks cool Buddy. Nice job making it.

@Vladimir if you want one of those chewed Micron packings to mod I'll trade you one of those for one of your o-rings & two trigger springs. ;)

No, I don't:) I did my own, why would I need to modify the one with the teflon? Mine were done from a scratch.
I just wanted your packing nut to be shown here, so people would understand what adjusting from side window makes to the nut.
I guess, you're mistaken, I'm not @DaveG who has what you've mentioned, for at least now I don't have my O-rings and the springs:) I've bought them for myself from different continents of this planet;)

Oh yeah duh, forgot. And I thought you're modding cheap chianeese parts cause you couldn't do non standard threads? Anyways here's a pic of one of the chewed ones.

Thanx for the photo! Great illustration for what I'm saying.

In this case chinese nut will not fit Iwata. BTW it's Iwata nut has non standard threads.
I can do many threads;)

I have a few of the Chinese packing screws that fit the Iwata, no problem. There are so many different ones being produced now it is hard to tell what is what with a blanket statement.

...and, right? Iwata threads seem to have standard pitch, but their major and minor diameters are interesting, to say the least.

non standard? Are they swiss? :)

No, they're metric. There are standard metric and non standard.
What you buy at the hardware stores for home purposes are usually standard.

That's interesting! Things are very different even among chinese micron knock offs. Mine chinese has regular metric thread. I have to make new nuts for that to fit new O-rings.

One headache is micron/HP A-SB handles.

@Vladimir I think I forgot to post the reply on your question about the pic of the tool and the nut

Thanx Ronald!

@Vladimir I am not sure if you can see but the nut only has damage from trying to remove it with a normal screwdriver ( top side) but not at the sides as shown on the other nut but I was always real careful when I adjusted the nut trough the window

Yes, I can't, the image is not that clear to see the damage. Macro photo picture would be better.

I only tried to tighten the nut from the side and immediately understood that I'd end up with the result of @crewchief227 . So didn't continue tightening. And never will do that again, I think.

soory Vladimir but I have only a simple camera that cant take any macro pics and I cant see if the pic is not clear :(

I used a old blade to turn the nut trough the window and not a screwdriver but no matter what I think the best way to do it is with the special nut screwdriver and from the back , that way you can feel the drag with the screwdriver and you dont have to insert the needle to check it

Me either, that's why I have two new one on my Microns

I tried to get a better pic but the camera wont focus on this small part let me see if I can explain the damage : 2 of the 4 groves that are on top of the nut are wider :the normal screw diver has moved 2 parts next to the groves
