H&S pairing the 0.15 Nozzle with 0.2 Needle.

I could find little use for my 0.15 nozzle because of the majority of paint I use. I generally have to pull the needle back quite a lot (make the trigger very unresponsive) to get the paint flowing and by then too much paint would come out. Or I will have to thin the paint so much that it is practically useless on plastic. Or I would need to crank the PSI to 30+ and risk blowing my tiny parts away.

I theorize that it is because that long slim 0.15 needle is designed for inks and high quality paint that flows very well. So, I took my 0.2mm needle and paired it with a 0.15mm nozzle and the results were quite positive!

Now I have a shorter, sturdier needle that will create more opening when I pull the trigger. With the left over paint I was using previously, I immediately notice a huge improvement in trigger sensitivity, the moment I touch the trigger, paint starts to flow and flows very well in a very controllable fashion. Atomization is better (very noticeable when spraying on plastic) and only 12 PSI is required. Dry tip is gone for the entire time I was testing it.:D

For model paints, I think the 0.2mm needle is a better match for the 0.15mm nozzle.

I notice no disadvantage or drawbacks thus far, anyone tried this combination before?

Can’t say I’ve ever tried it, but if it’s working for you, that’s great.

That’s right! I found same problem. My ver 2 needle doesn’t spray as well as old ver.

Did you change the nozzle as well? I find that the old nozzle - pre-2019 Q1 nozzles do not work as well with the v2 needles. The new nozzles have different markings, 1 line for 0.15, 2 lines for 0.2 and 4 lines for 0.4.

Also, if you have a 0.15 nozzle and a 0.2mm needle, maybe you could try pairing them and see if you notice the improvements as well :D.

I have ver 2 0.4 nozzle and needle. I try it but the old ver is better.

I see.

Personally I don't have issues with the 0.4 v2, notice quite a bit of improvement with the 0.2 v2 and the 0.15 v2.... - not very suitable for my use.

p/s: I had to change my paint reduction ratio a bit.
