Ok, this didn't take long at all, I think the most time taken was uploading the files to the cloud, downloading them to the laptop, resizing and uploading to here as well as the vid to youtube.
So here's the step by step

First I cut out some circles from scrap wood. I did more than I needed in case I screwed it up.

I drilled each one and glued them together with a wooden dowel at 90 deg

After they are attached

Then I butt jointed 2 pieces of wood together at 90 deg attached with a screw

I rounded the end over so the bits of wood would not snag on each other and then put it together with a bolt, washers and a wing nut.

I drilled a hole in another long piece of wood and attached that the same way, Bolt, washers and a wing nut.
That would be where the helmet holder part would go.
Here is a short video to show you how it moves..
Now remember this is only a mock up and so the 90 deg circly part isn't the strongest plus the glue hadn't gone off so it does move slightly.
For a better fix I think I would use a 6mm or 8mm bolt with its head cut off and epoxy it in place.
The L shape bracket would also have a proper joint which would be glued and screwed.
For the helmet mount part I think some sponge or a polystyrene dummy head would work. Cut a slot in it and slide the wood up inside with a bit of glue to secure it. I'd have to work out how to exactly attach it but I don't think it would be too difficult..
And no i'm not making any to order.
Stay safe everyone
