Nozzle for Richpen apollo 112b

Hi I could use some help with an Airbrush I bought on eBay. It is a Richpen Apollo 112b it has a brocken nozzle. I got the thread out of the brush thanks to daves tip. The problem is I can't get hold of an original nozzle here in Germany. Is there a nozzle from an other Brand that would fit and preform well. (Iwata or Rich) Those Brands are available here. Which 0,2 mm nozzle would I have to get and would I have to change any other Parts.
It would be great if someone could help me.

I’d suggest you contact Richpen directly about the problem and they may be able to direct you as to replacement parts.

You can indeed contact Richpen in Japan directly. They have always been very fast to respond, and very helpful each time I have contacted them. I've ordered parts from them and had them in under a week without issue. There is a contact link on their web page.

If you do not want to purchase directly from Japan for some reason, an Iwata HP-B (not plus) nozzle will fit. You should also change to the Iwata nozzle cap, and needle for best performance. The only Mr. Hobby/Creos nozzle that first the threads on a Richpen body is the .18, but they are a little short to work well with the available nozzle caps.

Just so you know guys. I tried to order some stuff from Japan few days ago and they told me they don't ship to europe cause od Corona. It wasn't Richpen, but I suspect this is how it is with Japan orders in general lately. So I suspect they don't ship to states as well. So check what kinda situation is in Japan with shipping to other countries.

yeah, shipping is crazy everywhere... i hope this is not a new normal, but rather blip in time.

I recently purchased a brush from Germany that has gone into oblivion once reaching the airport...

I still need to order something from Japan, but I will send mail first to ask them if they ship. Cause when I payed they refund me in few minutes, but paypal was holding cash for few days. So one mail to Richpen about shipping should do the trick I think.

edit: paypal or bank - I needed few days before I could use that cash

Thanks for all the replies. I called richpen in Japan and they don’t send to Europe currently because of Corona. I found two dealers in Europe that carry Richpen one in Belgium and one in Italy both don’t have the nozzle. So I will go with Dave’s suggestion and get the Iwata hp-b old nozzle, needle and nozzle cap. And once more thanks for the help and stay safe in these crazy times.

I found a spare nozzle by Rich that I could try from my Rich AS2. The nozzle cap of the AS2 has a different diameter of the thread but if the nozzle fits I could get the neddle and nozzle cap for the Rich AB200 I‘ll try it and let you know how it went. Since it’s a holiday over here I‘ve got the time.

The nozzle fits and works with the Rich Pen nozzle cap. I ordered a nozzle, nozzle cap and neddle for the Rich AB 200. That should make it a nice detail Airbrush.

I am not 100% sure, but I think all you need to change in that case is the nozzle. When I suggested changing nozzle, nozzle cap, and needle when switching to Iwata parts, it is because the Iwata parts are spec'd differently and work better in conjunction with one another. Specifically, the nozzle cap hole is smaller on the Iwata, and the needle contour is different - I am pretty sure the two Richpen models use similar specs to one another.

Thanks Dave since I already ordered it I'll keep the old nozzle cap and needle for spare. That way I know that the nozzle, nozzle cap and needle work together.
One other thing I've learnt so much from you and I really enjoy your modifications, thanks for that and you make Airbrushes that are a piece of art themselves.

Thanks for the kind words.

I just went and checked my stash... the Nozzle Cap from the Apollo 112b features a smaller exit bore than that of the AB200. Generally speaking, this will allow the brush to operate at a lower air pressure with finer atomization. Between these two, there is not a big difference. Since you've ordered the parts as set, it should be fine to keep them together - but, at some point you may want to try the brush with the original 112B nozzle cap - it may be worth the effort.

I just got in a Richpen 303C Comet (.3 side feed brush). The brush looks to be in very good condition once cleaned, but the nozzle was cracked. I contacted Richpen in Japan, and within less than an hour paid for nozzles, a few needles, and DHL shipping - no problem. At least shipping to the US... Today is June 24th.

Interesting note - the person I dealt with was thrilled that I found a Comet, as they are an older model. He had never seen one before, and was happy that he would be providing me with parts to bring this one back to life.

AAD incoming lol. I've just paid for a Hansa Aero Pro 300 from ebay, I guess I will have to work on it to get it perfect but I like that. Haven't a clue if they are good or bad but not too worried as I only paid £6.50 for it. Any in your collection @DaveG ?

I have a few Hansa's, but none from the Aero Pro line. I think they may actually be Taiwanese in origin.
