I am thinking of ''maybe'' buying quiet compressor.

Plan of use:
more or less micron.

Added bonus: If it can run on 30 psi for my eclipse sbs for small amount of time that would be great. For some bigger coverage.

Sc fi? : If it could run eclipse bcs on 30 - 40 psi for half a minute if there is need to.

Needed: must be quiet. Like a ninja. :ninja:

Where would I look normally:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/airbrush-compressor/s?k=airbrush+compressor

https://www.airbrush-fengda.co.uk/airbrush-compressors-html

here i get 15% off on these:
http://www.airbrush.si/sl/9-airbrush-kompresorji
also there is no shipping cause they are local.

The cheaper the better. I got big compressor at home, so in no need for compressor. But this would be like, treating my self if I find something worth of purchase.

Any thoughts? Ideas?

I have one identical to the
AS189-R2 from airbrush.si

it has a flow rate of 23L per minute, nice and quiet but id have to test it to see if it will do your eclipse bcs @30-40 psi for 30sec

Thanks Jackie for you help. I am not in a hurry so there is no need to get info fast.. I am just thinking about if I can improve my experience and I would guess quiet nice compressor would be nice for silent nights.

I pulled that 30 seconds out of my we know what. I needed to add some time, probably 30 seconds is to much either way.

yeah, I don't have any way to measure actual flow rates out of an air line... sorry!

The quietest compressors are obviously the refrigerator type compressors - which are partially submerged in oil. Drawback is that they tend to be expensive. So, we will rule those ones out for now...

I will suggest that you get the biggest one you can afford that offers a separate air tank, and advertises a quiet operation. Here we have the California Air Tools models, but I don't think they made it over to the European continents. I would look at the specs for them, and then search for something equivalent out of a market you can resource there. You will most likely be better off looking at compressors that are not airbrush oriented, as they tend to be much cheaper than models that are advertised as AB specific. Something in the 50- 60db range of operation will keep the noise confined to one room, for the most part.

the fridge type compressors in Europe all come from the same factory in Italy and go by different brand names you may check out the H&S silent compressor that was the cheapest one I could find with the same spec's as a Bambi compressor but that was a few years ago these compressors also go by the name Hansa

Husky, I have a California Air that was recommended to me on this forum. It's very quiet.
California Air Tools 8010 Ultra Quiet & Oil-Free 1.0 hp Steel Tank Air Compressor, 8 gal, Silver https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00WM1VPKE/ref=cm_sw_r_fm_apa_i_YF75EbR9NCKNT
thanks for help Charlie. Shipping would be probably five times the amount compressor cost, to my place. I don't get it, why compressors are so cheap in states, but in Europe are costly. Do european compressors blow golden air or something?

Lets say I am in a search for night compressor. I know for a fact nobody can hear my compressor. But I was thinking to go even lover with sound at nights if I would find something nice.

For silent you would need to go for a Bambi, Sil Air, Jun Air or the brand that Ronald suggested. They usually have motors that look like a fridge motor, they are silent, I have an old Sil Air and all you can hear is a hum, the air coming out is louder.

I had home made one, but unfortunately I broke it. I used to much pressure for that thing. It can be seen on first picture in this thread:

Yep, those compressors are quiet as a mouse. I was to stupid and to new and I pushed that compressor to far...

It says silent on the compressor, its not that silent I take it?

My neibghours dont't know what I am doing and not one mentioned compressor sound. But I wouldn't mind if would be a little more ear friendly. Let's be realistic. With 90 liters in tank that compressor would turn on once per night probably if I would use 10 psi. But just to know you have one small one real quiet one for piece of mind at nights wouldn't be bad. When I release my air on my Big Bertha after I am done, it sounds like I would use vaccum cleaner.

edit: There is also option I could build soundproof isolation box. It can be done. Probably cheaper then new compressor? -.-

You do know leaving the air in it over night will be fine, you can let the air out in the daytime when no one is asleep

Thank you jord. I didn't know that. You know me, I am a chicken, scared I won't brake something...
This info will be very usefull. Draining air is the loudest part when using my compressor.

if it helps this is what I use
https://www.amazon.com/PointZero-HP-Airbrush-Compressor-Portable/dp/B004KNDQCM/ref=sr_1_27?crid=17HKU66KL76V6&dchild=1&keywords=airbrush compressor&qid=1592269966&sprefix=airbrush,aps,253&sr=8-27

I use it in my living room and my wife and kids cannot tell its running when Im painting and they are watching Tv.
I know these type are know to not last long however I have had mine for 2 years and have had 0 issues.
any tip, help, idea, brainstorming is most welcomed here. I like to pick your brains guys and you guys saved me bunch of money, frustrations and googling.

How much psi you use? And what kinda airbrush?

Still thinking about what to do. Maybe I should made that box long time ago which Robby mentioned. It didn't happen, cause not one neibghour asked me or told me about any noise from me.
So I am picking up your brains and deciding what I will do.
