Cool Dragon Hunter:thumbsup:. Looking forward to seeing it. Should be like riding a bicycle. Since you've done it before it should come back.
Happy painting:D!!!

haven't ridden a bike since the early 70's so at this point my model building skills are fresher than my bike riding skills :D

lol Too funny! Last I rode one was in the 90s. Won't be doing anymore of that though now:eek:.

I'm sure your model will look great.

I've been painting it in my head since it arrived..... lets hope the theory in my head translates to the SpaceShip !!

I know "In Theory" very well, not limited just to paint.

Now you have me intrigued:). I'm sure you have a good plan.

lots of googling and you tubing to see how the modellers do it ! it seems the way to go is with washes and removal of washes in order to highlight crevices, then hand painting stand out items like piping.
all the theory in the world means nothing if I can't translate it to the real world

Therein lies the rub. I have some ideas on things I'd like to do. I think I have a good idea on what I need to do to accomplish it. It's pretty much "going for it" and seeing if it works.

I'm pretty sure the washes and hand painting are pretty much how it's done. I've never done it so I am no expert.

I’m definitely a ‘jump in the deep end’ personality.
We shall both learn if a wash is the right way to go :)

that's why its going to be fun once we all get ours painted and uploaded, even though they are all the same model they'll all be a little different

Just remember if you decide to use enamel/solvent washes (widely used in the scale model world) don't build the model then do the wash... the plastic can "crack" I am thinking that illustration would be a great wash for this. You can use windex to remove the paint/manipulate it.

Thanks for the tips Donna, I did initially think about using illustration but couldn’t convince myself that it would be the right choice. I ended up getting a few bottles of enamel. “Ammo by MIG”
saw a few you-tube videos that used it to great effect so fingers crossed :)

I came to see the process of everyones model, is this the right page? Where are the finished models?
I can’t wait to see some models painted and finished. I did mine all in one 7hr sitting. It was my first model for me since I was a kid and that model was a little tank that didn’t even get painted.
I didn’t think the airbrush spaceship model was that hard but I suppose I rushed it and didn’t really do much research how to paint it and make it look real. I still think mine is ok and can’t wait to see what everyone else is creating.

Looks good so far Jackster! I’m holding out for Christmas to get one lol.
Actually I’m more waiting for them to be available in the U.K. so I don’t have to sacrifice a kidney for shipping.
