Airbrush use with Resolene

I want o use Fiebings Resolene applied through an airbrush. It is an acrylic clear coat used on leather products. It dries fairly fast and thick and is flexible when dry. My ancient Paasche VL5 has died after 40 years,

Is there a better recommendation for something that is easy to clean that could run this thicker substance through?

I am using a Badger air compressor.

I’m no expert Buddy. But for applying thicker paints my vote would be a GSI 290. It’s a .5 Nozzle and Needle combo and has the advantage of coming with the option of either a fan pattern or a traditional cone cap. The cup is detachable, so clean up is a breeze and it’s damn good value for money. Either that or the Iwata Eclipse BCS if you don’t fancy the idea of a trigger brush.

I think the eclipse bcs too. It has a .5 nozzle so could work. Never having used resolene though or know how thick it is, that's just a guess. However I use Wicked paints on leather from time to time, they hold up well, and I used createx matte clear (the primal for fabrics) for the top coat. Flexible and no cracks, the oldest being probably four or five years ago now. They do a gloss too, which I haven't tried as the matte just looks natural on the leather. I used the hp-cs eclipse for this with a .35 nozzle. (Btw, the bcs head fits this to convert it to a .5 in case you want to use the brush for regular ABing too, the eclipse is awesome)

Another AB to have a gander at is the Badger Cresendo C-175. She's a little big compared to other brushes, was meant for T-shirts and thicker paints. Parts are cheap and the brush is affordable. The Cresendo has a fine tip converstion (.50mm), a medium tip (.70mm) and a heavy tip (1.00mm). They're built like tanks and I've had mine for ten years. I like to use mine for intercoats and large areas.

Yeah for the $60 a new vl5 costs I don't think you can beat it for this application.
The heavy tip crescendo looks good but... Idk if there's $100 more kinda difference there...?

A fan pattern like on a 290 would be nice but if you need a 1.0 nozzle to run resolene idk if it would really work ..?

You're pretty limited on any kind of brush with larger nozzle that would run on that compressor.

I think a crescendo or vl is about it.
