Clunk in trigger

beginner-James

Mac-Valve Maestro!
I have changed my spring on my Iwata Custom Micron.

Yes after changing the spring on my trigger I have developed a clunk when I now press the trigger to start the air, I have added lub to the contact points but still I have a clunk or is it a click any way I'm sure it wasn't there before I change the spring any ideas welcome.

This is usually stiction between the trigger push pin, and the o-ring in the body that it passes through. Lubing the pin can sometimes eliminate the issue. You may not have felt it before, because of the amount of force needed to depress the trigger with the old spring.

OK I have Lubed the pin BUT I noticed today that the Air stayed on twice after releasing the trigger ??

dose this mean I need to add more needle juice to the pin

No, it means the seal is swollen. No amount of lube will release it. It needs to be opened up and left to dry out or you need to replace it.

the seal on part 158 is your problem but it could also be that the little pin part 14A is dirty and needs a good clean and a little needle balm to get it moving again but like Andre I think it is the seal

I think it more likely the seal causing your issue is #14B, and it is located in the brush body above the air valve. You will need to unscrew the entire air vale from the body to access it, and then pick it out from the bottom. You can try waiting for the swelling to go down, but I would simply replace it. I don't know what you are lubing with, but I do not recommend anything here other than something like our Rockett AB lube, Foxy Studios Needle Balm, or plain ol' vasaline (petroleum jelly). What ever you use to lube with has to be inert with Buna-n, or nirtile rubber.

Hi David Thank you for getting back to help solve my issues I'm using badger needle juice and Iwata lube I shall order some Foxy studio needle Balm this week.
The swelling I think has gone down as it's not sticking now so I shall remove pin today and clean it with some alcohol add a little bit of Vaseline (lip balm) until foxy k33 balm arrives

I have some of the Badger lube, but have never used it. The Iwata lube (if blue) should be thrown away! It has a long history of making things gummy and sticky. They have since redone the formula, and the new lube is clear - but, I have not used that either.

I have the clear but now decided to wait untill k33 balm arrives from Foxy

Carlo wrote to me offering to fix my airbrush at no cost if I'm unsuccessful at fixing my problem. Now that is a kind offer considering I didn't buy airbrush or spring from them.
