Iwata HP-B+ vs CM-B v2

Aaaand just like that I found a sweet deal on Ebay for an HP-B Plus.
Bad week for my wallet as I also grabbed a Neo CN for primers and clear coats on Saturday. $89 CDN for the Neo and $200 CDN for the HP-B.

Thanks everyone for your insights. Much appreciated.

Just so you are aware .. there is a difference in spare parts between the HP-B and the HP-B Plus :)
Glad you managed to save some $$

As Andre says, parts are not as readily available but still out there for the HP-B.
The Plus is the current version so you’ll be ok for parts availability. I only mentioned it in case you came across cheap spares on eBay for the older version thinking they’d fit your plus

Ah. No, I had my sights on the Plus for that very reason. I have a good source for spares, so all's well there.

Thanks for the heads up guys.

By the way, what do the last two letters inscribed on the body stand for? I noticed they vary within the same model of brush.

Those are code for the date of production of the tool. Somewhere on the forum there are scans of the Iwata codes. Use forum search to find it. As I remember, @AndreZA posted it.
I've got the codes on my hard drive somewhere, but searching on the forum would be faster:)

Found it. My new HP-B Plus was made in April, 2016.
Thanks Vladimir!
