Masking tape storage idea

Vladimir

Detail Decepticon!
We all use masking tapes for airbrushing and custom painting needs. If to store the tapes somewhere on the shelf in the studio they become dirty over the time by gathering dust on the flat sides of the roll. Especially it concerns us airbrushers creating a lot of dust:)

The solution of not getting dirty rolls is simple. It's storing the tapes in the CD/DVD box.

Here's how it looks.

It's possible to use this type of box for fine line tapes.

Some of the fine line tape new in full rolls will not come inside the CD box. But good news, you can put them in there when they're a bit used;)

There are different sizes of the boxes, so you can choose the best that fits your needs.

I use these boxes for many years and the tape rolls remain as new all the time. You need only to remove dust from the box covers from time to time.

You Sir are a genius. That’s a great idea and much better to repurpose than throw out the plastic containers. Great plan!

Simon, this time genius was someone else, I can't remember who even was that. I got this idea kinda decade ago from one of the Russian AB forums. Been using the idea since then.

BTW, the boxes can sit one onto another, that saves place in the studio, besides everything around becomes more organized.

I didn't bought a cd or dvd for more then 5-10? years. Can we get usb trick or external drive trick for storing masking tape Vladimir?

Indeed! I also haven't bought them for very long time. Maybe we need to add some glue to external drives boxes?:D But they're too small for the tape:(
You're totally right, though! I now think if the discs are sold these days?
Doesn't matter! I've got steel and welder!:D Any size of the isn't a problem!

Luckily, I have some boxes from back days, maybe this will be enough for my needs.

great use of old cd cases.

Right!:)

That is such an obvious idea. Almost feel stupid for not thinking about it before. [emoji106]

Another one obvious idea has come into my mind!;)
It's about how to store store urethane mixes while ABing. Ridiculously simple.

I’m definitely searching LOL.

How many friends have you already called on this subject?:D People you know should help you in search:) You can say to them you're planet saver!lol
