Flakes, pearls and other expensive dust!!! or ... ???

Cool collection, Lee!

How do you find your SRI, let's say, compared to any other mini spray guns you've tried?
Asking why. They are not cheap and if they'd worth the cash paid for them or maybe be there's smth that would work equal, but for less $$.

Well in honesty I've only used them a couple of times but they do spray really really smooth compared to the smaller (red) gun which is the only one I can compare them too but it was only £12, saying that its not bad for the price.
As for buying them, If I had to get some guns, had spare money and would be using them a lot I would go out and pay full price for them. They're not cheap, however it's like buying a good quality airbrush, you get what you pay for, great quality and superior spraying/atomisation. I got them off a friend for silly money so can't complain.

Funny thing is, I have gun like yours red, but haven't ever tried it. Now I know, that SRI will spray smoother, but I'll only know that after the first try of chinese gun:)
Will consider SRI when I need another mini gun.

How do you find that one at the bottom left? I have similar, only the head can produce flat spray pattern , it works normal.

It's ok for a really cheap £7 gun, its only a 0.5 but it works fine with normal paints and has a round spray pattern. The one next to it must be like yours but does have a bigger setup and sprays in a fan pattern. Again it was also really cheap at around £10 but works perfectly well for non critical paintwork. The red gun isnt bad by any means either so give it a try, It does give a pretty good result.
I will have to see if I can find the picture of the golf club my niece sprayed with it (with my assistance)

Agree, it's cheap, but nevertheless works good.
That one red (mine is chromed, but it seems from the same factory) I've been advised to buy, bought it and never tried. If girl could normally use it, that means that the gun isn't that bad at all:)
I've got SATA minijet and other, used them, so there was no chance to use this chinese gun. It still sits new in box.

BTW, found this mini gun on TCP.

It only shows brass paint nozzles, mine is stainless steel, but I like the body of the one in the link. It's easy for cleaning. If I haven't had all the setups in other mini guns, I'd consider this one.

One little thing I'd like to add for the sake of hobby painters like myself:

Be careful handling dry pigments, as they become airborne VERY easily, and if inhaled can do bad things to your breathing tubes. It's tempting to think that "powder" means they behave the same way as, say, flour or baking soda, but they don't. They become airborne much, MUCH easier. Worst, most painful sinus infection I've ever had came from an almost imperceptible "poof" of Pearl Ex powder kicked up in the process of measuring/spooning.

Also they'll permanently stain carpet, cloth, concrete, etc. You think they'll vacuum or wash out because they're "just" powder, but they don't.

I've never handled any of the coarser ground more glitter-like pigments, so I don't know if the same holds true for those. Definitely goes for the regular pearl, interference, metallic, as well as "flat" color dry pigments (i.e. Gamblin and the like) though.

This is by no means to dissuade or discourage anyone from using dry pigments. They add a lot of neat options in several areas of painting/coloring, and I actually wholeheartedly encourage knowledge/use of them. Just saying you'll want to do your measuring and mixing in an area that's either "OK" to contaminate or easy to clean, and has good airflow (e.g. the garage, not the dining room), wear a dust mask, and handle with low inertia/shock movements.

I'm sure this is common knowledge/practice among professional painters (like most in this discussion); I'm just making sure it gets mention for the model builders and other casual hobbyists who might also be reading.

@Nessus to add to what you've said. Even going through the spray gun prepared mix of pearls fly all over the "room" it's been applied. So, protecting measures like covering undesired areas of parts being painted and dust removal napkins are welcomed.
Wearing protection is a must. It's normal to use the respirator when working with any spraying equipment, it all produces dust. I wonder why people don't use them sometimes. I always wear charcoal filter respirator.

This is a chromadek panel I sprayed with Rust-oleum glitter spray and then cleared with rattle can gloss. Ready for a skuff and then some artwork.

Candies are waiting to get on this?:) The first thought came when I remembered your latest tests of them.
