Iwata HP-BH

Hopefully, this is the correct place to park this question. Seems like Iwata's can vary in price a great deal throughout the year so not sure if/when it is a good time to buy.

I was curious if the HP-BH for $200 would be considered a good deal or not?

yep, that is a decent deal. They normally run around $230-$250. I picked one up on sale a couple months ago for $179, but that deal is no longer available.

An Iwata HP-B and an external MAC valve would be a better bargain. You then have control over any other brush you buy with out the extra $$ for the built in MAC on individual brushes.
I highly recommend the Grex MAC quick connect and a few male connectors to put on the airbrush I can’t recall seeing anyone regretting buying an external MAC connection.

Just for the record, I used to say the exact same thing! ;)

I thought the HP-BH was the same as a HP-B, but with a MAC valve hanging off the bottom. It isn't. It is a larger bodied brush, with very few parts common between the two models. I REALLY like the way the HP-BH works, and it moved it's way right up to the front of the line on brushes that I reach for when starting a project. I have since put my beloved HP-B+ in the display case... even though I do have a Grex MAC valve on my air hose ;).

well I've just learnt something, so today is a good day, thank you :) I didn't realise there was a difference in the body size.

This is the way I have mine set up - the adapter, or Micron style midsection - is a piece I originally cut for an Eclipse body. It is larger diameter and features a coarser thread than the HP or Micron parts.
